2 yr Surgiversary

Dec 23, 2011

Well, actually my anniversary was yesterday, but I am thrilled with my decision to have my RNY.  I am at goal and maintaining it!!  I get in my protein and water daily.  Continue to follow the rules about 98% of the time......hey, I am human.  I really want to be a good example to my friends and family of a "good post op" and not regain the weight.  Support groups have helped as has OH and my wonderful hubby.  Thanks everyone for your support.  Well, Christmas is here upon us soon, and I distantly remember being on clear liquids 2 yrs ago.  :-)  Well, I had better schedule my 2 yr followup with my surgeon soon.  Blessings, Carol

A great recipe for life

Apr 18, 2010

A GREAT RECIPE FOR LIFE...

1.Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to the God of your understanding about what is going on in your life.
3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today. I am thankful for______________'
4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
12. You are not so important that you have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
14. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'
17. Forgive everyone for everything.
18. What other people think of you is none of your business.
19. GOD heals everything - but you have to ask Him.
20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch!!!
22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for __________.
Today I accomplished _________.
24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
25. When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings. You'll be smiling before you know it.

26. READ 7 AND 14 AGAIN!

Prayer from Leeann31

Apr 18, 2010

A Prayer for All Who Struggle With Food

God, I know that you are all powerful and that with you all things are possible. You created me, so you understand my struggles and dreams as no one else can. Thank you for loving me unconditionally.

Please free me from my desire to eat more than I need. I ask you to give me the strength to resist temptation and avoid greed. Help me realize that food is just fuel for my body, not my soul. Please liberate me from the oppression of self-sabotage.

I ask you to help me attain a healthy weight so I can have the energy, strength, focus, and stamina to use my body and mind for the kingdom work you have chosen for me. Help me remember that my body is your temple. Let my hands, feet, mouth, eyes, and ears be weapons of mass compassion and not tools for mass consumption.

Lord, I am weary from fighting this battle with food. I struggle with balancing my physical need for food with my longing to eat in excess. I give you my hopelessness, despair, and weakness, and ask you to transform those feelings to hope, joy, and strength.

I believe that you have great plans for me and want me to devote my mind to more than thinking about food and worrying about my weight. I believe that having a healthy body without excessive weight will enable me to be a more effective Christian, and that is what I want to be.

God, I ask you to show me the way so I can truly let my light shine!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.

Feb 10, 2010

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Life isn't like a box of chocolates. It's more like a jar of jalapenos.  What you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
