Welcome.

Well let me start with a little about me. I am 39 engaged to a wonderful man. I have been overweight most of my life. I had Bad knees as a teenager and have just gotten worse over the years.

I started the process for WLS, in July. It has gone very fast for me thanks to the people at Fountain Valley. They got me approved in less than 4 weeks. My date is Sept. 23, and yes I am counting down the day. They are really great there.

Well it has been a long time I am not very good at this as you can see. I do try and help support people on the oh boards. I am 8 months out now and down 86lbs. I went from 4 x skirts to 22/24 pant. I try not to wear anything stretchy in the way of pants now. I wear xlarge or 1x shirts now. I am also engaged to a great man who supports me in so many many ways. He start this with me and has stood by everything.

This has been so amazing for me. I realized tonight that I tied my shoes without sitting on the bed and raizing my leg sideways until I could reach it. My leg just crossed and I tied it. WOW

Today is one year since my surgery. Last year at this time I could not grocery shop and bring them in by myself. I had not been to walmart in two years. Today I went to walmart and the grocery store for me and my sister in law took everything in both houses put them away before 12. I still have knee problems I knew the surgery would not totally fix that but I can and have gone to Knotts for the day and not come home crying because my legs hurt so bad I did not know how I was going to make it in the house.

Thursday I spent the day in Mexico we walked for about 3 solid hours. (boy does my cousin walk fast too, but I kept up). I feel like I am living life instead of sitting on the side line watching.

My blood bressure was boarder line high before surgery when I went to the doctor last time she told me 100/63. Wow. My colesterol went from 173 I know not to bad to 134  woohoo me.

I have lost 99lbs. I still want to lose another 50. But even if I don't which I know I will I feel great.

I guess I should have update a while ago it has been 2 years I am now down 126 lbs. I got Married on May 6th 2006 to the worlds greatest man Gary J. he is my everything. I have had my knee replacement on the left knee and am working on the right.

Sept. 23 2007

Well another year has passed, I am 3 years out now and down 147 lbs.  Wow I never thought I would still be losing at 3 years out but it just goes to prove it you listen to your pouch it will not fail you. I still can't exercise a lot because of the knee's, But the main goal when I started all this was to get below 250 so that I could get knee replacements I did that. I also got so much more from this, I no longer have sleep apnea, I am wearing a size 16 pants I never ever thought I would do that. We went in a store today and Gary saw a T shirt he wanted it but it was to small for him size Med. I said I bet it will fit me I tried it on over two shirts it was a little tight but I did have two other shirts one one a long sleeve. So we bought it. I laughed I can wear med. shirts lol. Take care of your pouch it will take care of you.

Big hugs,
Celest

Just though I would stop by and tell you it can be done 6 years and counting I stay withih 10 to 15 lbs of  the 150lbs I lost. I very happy with that. I still eat from small bowls and a thigh and a few bites of rice or veggies fill me up. I use to get a subway 6 cut in half if i got full i was good, well 6 years later it still fills me up and i stop there, so i get 2-4 meal depending on what honey gets me :) so I am Happy.
If i stay this way for another 6 years i will jump for joy.

big hugs
