Day of Surgery Wed 1/12/11
- 236 lbs.  Gained about 10 lbs over holidays and eating whatever since I was having surgery.  Not what is desired but facts of my case.
- Had surgey Wed 1/12/11 at Overlake in Bellevue WA (suburb of Seattle) with Dr. Lauter
- Hospital stay through Friday 1/14. Could have left Thurs but decided the learnings in the hospital and oversight was worth another day
- Dr. and hospital were wonderful.  No complications (thankfully), low pain,
- Advice from bariatric nurse and doctor combined 1) eat 3 / day  2) stop liquids an hour before and hour after 3) eat within 20-30 min no more just enough time for brain to understand that your full 4) dont graze all day plan and eat your 3 full meals 5) plan for liquid diet 2 weeks + 2 weeks with apple sauce consistentcy but the body will also tell when ready or not

Day 3 Sunday

- 229 lbs
- feeling good overall
- sleep in a big chair with ottoman so as to not recline more than 30 pct.  tried the bed but when reclining like that found the chair ottoman combo better
- sleep well at night.  Do take 5 ml of pain medicine prior to sleeping - helps me sleep.  Often wake at 3 am and then have some water and another bout of pain medicine (low pain, so medicine is partially preventive) and then sleep till 7 or so.

eating now
- 3/4 cup coffee slowly
- 2 tablets multi-vitamins am and pm
- 2-3 sugar free popsicles as snacks
- 1-2 sugar free jello cups from the grocery store
- breakfast: 3/4 glass of carnation chocklate into a 3/4 glass of non fat milk
- lunch/dinner : 3/4 bowl of either chicken or vegetable broth made at home (for lunch and dinner)
- 25% glass of protein shake from the store 1-2 times a day (sugar free - from trader joes - dont love it may try to make at home with some receipes from another forum)

Dreamt of chinese food - was so real as if I could actually taste chinese spare ribs.
