I am very nervous.  Start my 2 weeks Optifast tomorrow.  Pre-op appointment is in one week.  I know I am doing the right thing, I have no regret on my decision to have this surgery.  Just super nervous on what to expect.  I know we are all different and nothing is text book.  I am very excited and fortunate to be starting my year with the surgery.  The unknowns are difficult.  I am very nervous about the pre-surgery shakes and dealing with the hunger.  I am sure I will be sleeping a lot. LOL

My surgery will now be in January.  Unfortunately that is what when you take a vacation. :-(  I see my surgeon December 4th, looking forward to having my surgery date so I can start planning.  So much has been put on hold until I know these dates.  Very disappointed on how things have been handled by one individual but thankful that over all the team is fantastic.  Happy that I was assigned to this surgeon.  I have heard many good things about him.  Count down is starting to my new life. :-)

I have received approval from the team, now the Post Surgery Care class than the surgeon.  Looking at the end of December for surgery.  Nervous and excited all at the same time. :-)

My journey to the new me has started.  Received my orientation letter May 2nd. Did my preliminary blood work and unltrasound done.  Since I am already on APAP machine didn't need a sleep study. :-)  Orientation was interesting but with all my previous research I knew most of what they were talking about but did learn the why behind the restrictions.   I had my first meeting with my nurse on June 20th.  The appointment went well.  Looking forward to seeing the dietician tomorrow and the social worker.  I was told most likely with my history and all the changes I have made to date that I should only need 2 appointments.   Fingers crossed.

First step is done, the referral has been sent.  I am so fortunate to be surrounded by people that are supportive and have had the surgery both recent and long ago.  Enjoying the education I am getting and feeling so much better about the road I am about to travel. :-)

My referral should of been sent as I requested it a month ago.  Now I am just trying to get educated on what to expect and when to expect it.  This is a huge step for me. I have been fighting taking this journey because my mom took this journey approx. 24 years ago and it was a very tough journey for her.  I know technology is so different and the surgery I am having is different but it doesn't stop me from being scared.  So the big step has been made.  Like anything else once I make a decision I want it now LOL.  Took me 3 years to make the decision I hope I don't have to wait that long for it to happen. LOL  I am very fortunate that I live so close to one of the best centres.  Looking at this site I have about a year to wait and prepare. Looking forward to this journey. Looking forward to having a life. :-)
