I am a 32 year old gay guy. I have struggled with weight my entire life and excluding a few years during late adolescence where my parents had me on a strict diet and excessive exercise (less than a 1000 calories a day and running 7 miles a day at 14-16 years old) I have always been overweight.

It would be a lie to say it doesn't bother me, but I had come to terms with my weight recently. I figured there was nothing I could do about it. But over the past few years my doctor has been warning me about my high blood pressure and insulin levels. Then I started getting terrible headaches, blurred vision, and passed out from my blood pressure. This drove me to find another way to approach my weight issues since none of the diets I have tried ever worked for me. And like most heavy people, I have literally spent thousands and thousands of dollars trying them all. I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure three years ago, Diabetes a year and a half ago, and Sleep Apnea about two years ago. So after two years of fighting my insurance company, then a second insurance company because my job changed carriers, I decided to find a better job with real insurance.  With my new job and new insurance company getting approved was easy!

I am a writer by passion who happens to have a day job.  I work for a steam ship line approving discharge and load lists for the vessels.

I enjoy watching hockey, rugby, and some football. I love music, movies, spending time with my friends, etc...
