In June 2006 I had a Lap Band inserted here in Adelaide, all was going well until about 8 weeks ago, and I developed intermitent vomiting and I was unable to eat even small portion sizes. After having all the fluid removed from my band, and the vomiting getting worse, I was admitted to hospital and xray's showed I had an anterior protrusion up under the band and this was causing an occulsion of the stoma, and hence the vomiting.

Surgical intervention found that the only real option was to remove the band and let everything settle down and look at other options, either a sleeve gastrectomy or lap band in about 3 months time.

I am researching the gastrectomy option as this one is new to me, I was very comfortable with the lap band and need to look at all options again.
