Ok, where do I start?  I am 36yrs old, married to a wonderful and supportive husband and I have two children.  One is 16yrs and the other is 11yrs old.  Family life is good.  I used to be thin until I got married and got pregnant with my first child....and then what the heck.... I gained a whopping 65lbs. While giving birth, she broke my tailbone and then I was laid up for a couple of months.  So, I gained a bit more.  Then my son came along five years later and I gained another 35lbs.  I never lost much of any of the baby weight.  Over the last 15yrs I have been a yo-yo dieter to say the least.  I have lost 100lbs three times in the last 10yrs....and each time I gain it all back plus a little more.  So, I think I have mastered the whole dieting and losing thing.  What I cannot seem to do, is keep it off.  As soon as I get comfortable with my weight loss, I tend to let old habbits sneak back.  Well, this dieting has taken a toll on my body and I realized I needed help.  That is where the weight loss surgery comes in.  I have decided to go with lap band because it is less invasive and I am a self payer.  Dr. Mirande is a wonderful doctor and he has an excellent history with his patients.  I look forward to finding more energy, being more active with my kids and my husband.  I want to feel confident with myself and not let my insecurities creep into the bedroom anymore.  I can't wait to get into some skinny jeans and be able to shop in that part of the department store that has been forbidden for so long.  How about a bathing suit?  Getting up those stairs without losing your breath.  I just want to live a longer and fuller life with my kids.  I'ts not about a number....it's about the quality of life I will get with losing this extra person that I carry around.
