2010 Change..

Feb 11, 2010

I'd like to first give all the glory to God-Jesus for savingmy life thru this surgery.  3.5 years ago I wore a size 34, and weighed 347 pounds.  I weighed this morning and I'm a very comfortable 154 pounds and wear a size 8...whoohooo. I have now had two traumatic back injuries in which one was repaired 18 months ago, and I am waiting to decide on the big bad surgery to correct this new one.  Spent a week in hospital.  Would I do this all over again?  Heck yeah!! How cvould I lug my fanny around with 200 more pounds attached to it? my BMI in 23 it had been 52 at one point.  I am in the top 2% cardiovascularly, how about that.  While my injuries have been most unfortonate I am going to start delving into HIS word which is Living and obey the path HE sets before me.   I'd llike to share about "Phoebe":

She is considered the woman who wore the Badge of Kindness  Romans 16:1,2. Her name translates pure or radiant as the moon.  Paul  found to to be a consequential servent,, while on her way to Rome for personal business, she carried Pauls letter which effectuated the orthodoxy of the Universal Church.  Paul adopted her into his spiritual family, entitling her "Sister", Paul consideredher his sister in Christ in that she too experienced the  redemption of Christ and the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.  Galations 4:4-7.Phoebe was not just a stander by, she served in the church, as a deaconess, giving her the authority to teach all female ministry,to  include servitude to the poor and hungry.

Paul described her "A Succourer of Many and of myself also."    The definition of a succourer is "One who stands by in case there is a need." I'm going to think about that ...... Badge of Kindness, waiting to see if there is a need.....    Badge of Kindness.....

2008 Update

Jun 19, 2008

Well, here it is the middle of June... I haven't been blogging much as you can see and really haven't utilized this website much... I am now out on shortterrm disablility due to back, I stay in horrible pain, my sciatic nerve is pinched between the two ruptured discs... aughhhhhhh so no exercise, I am walking with a cane if you can call it walking...

On the bright side, I will be going in Monday to have my tummy tuck! I'm scared to death, please pray for me.  This is in an effort to take pressure off that sciatic nerve.  They think they will be removng 15 pounds or so... Wow... I can't wait to see the changes once I heal.. I have contininued to maintain my weight loss thank you JESUS, it's gone up and down 6 pounds due to steroids both oral and three epidural treatments on my back that didn't due a thing except cost me 1,000.00..    I stay on pain meds, I so hope this surgery releives the pressure and I can get back to my life... I see a neurosurgeon on July 3, I pray I don't have to have back surgery.  If they actually remove 15 pounds tht will put me right at 150 pounds or so, which is my ultimate dream weight.  I'm about 167 or so right now.   It goes up and down 6 pounds to 174 so ....   not bad since I tarted at 338 pounds when I went in for surgery.  I wear a 10 /12 now and have since the fall.  I was really getting out of the twelves and strictly in 10's until February when all the steroids started and I had to quit working out.. so I can wear some 10's but 12's are most comfortable at this point.

Maybe I'll get in an 8? after my tummy tuck?  I hope so..  I haven't seen that size since high school...  I battle depression, and miss my mom..  Please Please keep me in your prayers that my surgery is complication free and I have a speedy recovery.

I'll update once I'm feeling good enough to get online next week after surgery.

2008

Feb 15, 2008

well, 2007 did not end with what i would call a happy ending.. My mom passed away dec 13, about 4 hours before my 45 birthday... I'm happy for her, she no longer struggles to breathe, walk or does she struggle with her indepence and dignity.  She is with the Lord.  She fought a long battle of illness, and injury but HE took her gently into the night, in the blink of an eye, just as HE promises us.

I am now battling a back fracture, and sciatica, however, am so much healthier and enjoy life to it's fullest.  This surgery has given me the freedom to be me.  I have the most wonderful husband in the world, and I thank GOD for him.  He is a treasure, and I adore him.

Here's to a happy new year to us all!  I am down 183 pounds in 18 months and a size 32 to a 10.. whoo hoo thank you Jesus....Thanks to you all who have encouraged me

Jul 07, 2007

Thank you so much Reba for redoing my profile, I love it... and I am the coffee girl, this has been such an amazing journey.  To have lost a complete person in 10 months is incredible... over 150 pounds gone about 25 or so to go... I had some blood tests done this week as I've been tired, it's my thyroid again they think but my liver enzymes are up some too but not worrisome per the PA... I have met such amazing friends and in fact we celebrated Sue Rogers 1 year surgiversary last night.  I hope everyone is well....

5 months

Jan 23, 2007

Wow, this has been the most amazing 5 months and the shortest... I can't beleive how fast time has gone by... 112 pounds gone forever whoohoo... I seem to be changing on an almost daily basis, things that I notice most are of course the way my clothes fit, and what size i'm in ... a 20 or 18 down from a 30/32...whoohoo  I still have about 56 pounds to my doctors goal of 170 and 76 to my personal goal of150 but I feel so much better.  This is the best thing I have ever done for myself.  I get frustrated when I hit those stalls, but am supercharged when the scale starts moving again...
