"Somebody dropped the ball in my pain medication. I was in pain initially when I woke up in recovery, and did not get it under control until I was in my room. After that, the pain was well-controlled. Nurses were very friendly. Was on bariatric floor with other WLS patients; bariatric bed was great. "
"Basically, I started out w/Dr. Titus Duncan and was approved with him on 7/15/02. His office was too busy to call me and set a surgery date so after a month of waiting, I changed doctors to Dr. Christopher Hart in Suwanee, Georgia. BCBS transferred the approval to him with no problem. "
"I have seen Dr. Morrison for several years and he has always been concerned about my weight, although he never mentioned WLS. When I met with him on this visit for my clearance letter, he was very interested in what research I had done, and wanted to make sure I understood the drastic changes, etc. especially regarding my gallbladder (if it's left in). He faxed my clearance letter to my surgeon while I waited (YIPPEE) and was very positive about the entire surgery."

"I found Dr. Santavicca to be very informed and educated about the surgery and how life-changing it will be. He receives referrals from several Atlanta bariatric surgeons, not just one. He said he had done over 500 psych evals for bariatric surgery, and has not turned down anyone for the surgery, although he did say that he has recommended that some people continue with counseling through and after surgery. He said he feels that the surgery can only be beneficial to someone who is morbidly obese, health-wise and emotionally. I found him to be delightful."
