Elizabeth N.'s Vitamin Shopping list
Jul 08, 2010
I have been spending only slightly less just on calcium what Elizabeth spends per month for all of her vitamins. She kindly posted me her shopping list:Post Date: 7/8/10 11:57 am
My base multi is Kirkland's Centrum-equivalent, 2 daily, 500 for $12.75 = about $18/yr, or $1.50/month.
My calcium is Kirkland calcium citrate, 8 daily, 300 for $6.99 = about $68/yr, or $5.67/month.
Vitalady D3 50, 2 daily, 100 for $23.74 = $173.30/yr, or $14.44/month. Call it $15/month with shipping.
Vitalady Tender dry A Palmitate 25, 2 daily, 100 for $5.33 = $38.90/yr or $3.25/month. Call it $4 with shipping.
Vitaladay Tender Iron, 3 daily, 400 for $15.29 = $42.05/yr or $3.50/mo. Call it $4 with shipping.
I'm growing weary of writing out all the math here, so now I'm going to abbreviate to monthly :-).
Puritan's Pride chelated zinc, 2 daily, $2.06/month.
Puritan's Pride chelated copper, 1 daily, $1.50/month.
Magnesium citrate, brand varies, but using Vitalady prices, 4 daily, $10.95/month
GNC chewable vitamin C in a vat sized container, 1 lozenge daily, um, oh I dunno, $2/month maybe.
Liquid B-12 when I think about it, another buck a month at most.
B-100 complex a couple times a week, well under a buck a month, probably pennies a month.
Not currently taking extra folic acid as those levels are well above top normal range.
Hmmm, I think I have everything now. Grand total: $46.18/month. Well I'll be darned, I underestimated a bit. Oh well, it's still a lot less than the couple hundred a month in paid in prescription copays alone--at either $3 or $6 a pop--plus oxygen supply costs, etc.... :-)
