20 months post op
Sep 28, 2013
I have not been here in a while. Life takes off after surgery. I am no longer the invisible fat girl in the room.
I hit my goal weight at 9 months post op and never bounced back up an ounce. My weight goes up about 2 pounds before my monthly arrives, then goes back down when it passes.
I eat whatever I want... because I can only fit about a cup at the most. I still eat healthy, those lifestyle changes are for life. I abide by that.
I am not saying I don't indulge from time to time, eating an occasional sweet treat... I allow myself a simple pleasure on occasion .
I have found that the things that I craved pre op no longer interest me. I actually prefer sustenance over crap now.
I have trouble with constipation when I eat dense proteins, so I have opted to go "mostly" vegetarian, getting my protein from eggs, dairy, beans, lentils, etc. I do the protein shakes from time to time, but not often.
I have a good amount of loose skin, but not bad... i will not be seeking a plastic surgeon. I will live with the wrinkled skin on my stomach, thighs, butt and upper inner arms. Hell, I look good in clothes and no one is the wiser.
I have had several people ask me how I lost the weight and I tell them the honest truth. So far, 3 people who asked me have made the choice to have the surgery also and their lives have forever changed, like mine. I feel by telling them the truth, it helps them to make a better informed decision about their own journey.
I wish I had not been fearful so long ago and had the surgery years ago. I no longer have ANY health issues. I am in perfect health and condition, and most of all, I AM HAPPY IN MY OWN SKIN !!
One Last thing. I was a size 24 and now I am a size 8.

I have rid my body of just about all the gas bubbles, from surgery, but the hiccups and burps are common if I eat too much or too fast... along with that piercing cramp at the top of my gut that tells me "enough".
I loved my experience at Kaiser and I loved Dr. Im !!! I would do it again in a heartbeat !!!
Great Day

He looked at my chart, saw how much weight I have lost in the past 3 months and was so pleased that he wrote in my chart that I was at my operative weight goal, even though I am actually 5 pounds from it.
He asked me which surgery I had decided on and I said.... "the sleeve". I had been on the fence for quite a while, but now the decision is made and on paper !!
He said that he thought the sleeve would work great for me and that I am a perfect candidate for the surgery. He scheduled me for a psych. eval and EKG and Barium test next week and then I will meet my case manager and get my surgery date !!!
I expect to be sleeved within a month.
50 lbs. gone with the wind

I am still 4 days away from my surgeon appt. and I think she will be shocked that I actually did it. I have jumped through every hoop that they demanded and came out smelling like a sweaty rose... lol.
I can't wait to see what happens next...
Week 18 and OMG!!!
Dec 01, 2011
I have been busting my ass for 3 months. Today is the first day of month 4 and I am 6 freaking pounds away from my goal. Can I lose 6 pounds in 7 days? I doubt it... but damn, I can't believe I made it this far.
Kaiser gave me a seemingly impossible goal on Sept.1, lose 55 pounds by Dec.7 and they will give me a surgery date. Well, I think they expected me to give up...
I pray that I am close enough to the goal in 7 days that they give me my date. We shall see...
Week 15... been a bad girl

The important part is that I did not exceed my allowance . I am still losing, so that's a plus, but I will not be having another one of those again anytime soon !! As of yesterday I have lost 44 pounds.
Still 13 weeks...
