Well my story is so similar to what I have been reading - but here goes. I remember being on the Scarsdale Diet when I was about 9 and it really hasn't got much better since then. I have rejoined WW about 5 times, Sureslim, Jenny Craig, Reductil, Xenical you name it I've been there done that!
I am now 44 and live in Perth, Western Australia with my husband and 2 children 10 and 12. My husband works on a mine site so is away for 8 days a fortnight which gives me licence to eat anything I want when I want..and I do!
I am pre-diabetic and suffer from high cholesterol and high blood pressure and take medication for these. Until 2 weeks ago I had never heard of VSG and was investigating the Lap Band. I am now booked in for surgery on Tuesday 25th September 2007.
I have just realised how close this is. I am now at my heaviest weight ever - which is 126kg (277.2lbs) and need to lose 50kg (110lbs). I am nearly 6 ft tall which is why I have always been told I can carry a bit more weight - but I am sure they didn't mean this much more!
