I live in Bangor, PA with my Precious 
Wife, Sharon, who has put up with me for 42Yrs. on 1/29/08. Most of them very overweight and very cranky.
I have type ll diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesteral, sleep apnea, joint pain that won't quit! I hope to lose most of these with my surgery.
I'm retired and disabled vet. (VN, SeaBees, 67/68)
We have 3 adult children. 2 daughters and 1 son. We have 3 wonderful Grandsons, Jacob is 16, Brandon is 12, and Cole is 10.
Looks like April 08 for my surgery (Lap RNY) I can hardly wait!!
Don't know how to use this site to well yet. Hoping to meet folks to share info with;

Hi, I've been as high as 449# in 1993. I got scared and got it down to 285 and I've been bouncing up and down since then. Tried Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins, just cutting back, but I kept yo-yo-ing.
Never knew or thought much about WLS until the last 6 or 7 months.
I always thought the needles for my insulin was bad enough without being cut open too, but after turning 60 in Sept. 07 I knew I had better do something more serious and soon or i might not be here to long.
The last year I've been tripping and falling WAY too many times and it hurt more
each time it happened. My family (kids and especially my PRESIOUS wife) all support my decision and I know I'll get through it just fine.
Can't say I'm not at least a bit anxious about major surgery but i have soooo many folks praying for me and all the support I've gotten here already is making it feel right!!
I get the call Monday night for my time on Tuesday and it's my "Birthday into my journey to health".
