Oh, forgot to mention that I've had my consult with Dr. Juarez,I've done the seminar, and I've done my psych eval with Dr.Maxwell. Next I have to sign up for my nutrition classes.

I weigh the same amount. I think you are right the more info you give the insurance about all the times you have tried to lose weight like referals to nutrionists, and proof that you were treated for obesity by your doctor the better off you will be. Plus the fact that your primary care doctor thinks you need this surgery to be healthy. I hope I was a help. Robin

My current weight is 302lbs, BMI of 53 or so. I currently have Aetna PPO insurance, but I've heard they probably won't approve the surgery. Anyways, thank god that I have my employer's insurance, which is Benesight, that I will be a member in October. I'm not in a big rush since I think this is a process that you must take with patience, and I think that the more information one attains, the better off we will be and the better prepared for surgery. The doctor's office sent for my approval to Aetna anyways, so let's see what happens, although a denial letter will not surprise me, but an approval will!!
