September 2009 - 7 years Post-Op

I can't believe it has been 7 years since WLS. What a journey it has been. I have achieved things that would not have been possible had it not been for my surgery. The Gastric Bypass saved my life and I would do it all over again!
I weighed in at 188 this morning. Officially, down 160 pounds from my heaviest - down 140 from the day of surgery. I am walkin/jogging now and having the time of my life. I have an incredible career, I'm enrolled in a graduate program, and live an active family life. I don't talk about WLS much because I truly feel that it is a personal decision and journey that a person has to prepare for without someone convincing them that it's right for them. A person has to KNOW that there's nothing else left to try. It's a risk, no doubt about it. But, the rewards are SWEET!
Good Luck to all facing their day!
