Wow, I can't believe that I never went back and updated my story!  I had surgery 6 years ago now and everything went relatively fine.  I do have some problems with absorption of nutrients, especially protein.  That led to me having to be hospitalized in May of 2007 because of malnutrition.

I have my bloodwork checked regularly, and stay fairly well.  I lost a little over 200 pounds.  I've gained back a little, and would like to "re-lose" about 20.

But overall, I'm so thankful to have had this surgery, it saved my life.  I would have been in a wheelchair by now, if I hadn't had it. 

Dr. Voellinger and his office staff continue to be great, each time I go back for my yearly checks.
