11 months alrerady!

Nov 21, 2009

Hey everyone. Sorry about not keeping up with my blog but I have been back to work and 80 hours a week for 4 months doesn't leave alot of time to write. I'm on break right now so I thought I would jot down some updates. So I have been flucuating about 3 pounds and that makes my weight any where from 139 to 141ish. I am wearing a size 4. Thats is FANTASTIC! Who would have thought that I would ever get to that size? NO ONE.... I could not be happier if I tried with my weight. I have discovered that I love life and my marriage a whole lot more then I could have ever imagined. I cant tell you enough how much of a change that it has made in our lives and how much more we do as a couple. We no longer just live in the same house we actually do everything together. A new body and life and husband and all that good stuff. My husband is down to 209 to 212 depending on the water intake. Ya'll know what I mean. We hae had to dizzy spells with him but only after he had a couple of drinks and got up to fast . He completely passed out for abour 2 seconds. Very scary if you ask me. So he doesn't drink and lay down anymore... cant give up food and beer and whiskey. Thats asking too much from one person. I have talked to Dr A and he's going to scan our stomach to see if hey have streched b/c I feel like I put more food in there then I'm suppose to but then theres times where I cant. Makes no sense to me!  I really hope that anyone who is debating about this surgery reads this and emails me with any questions. You can go on to DR A's websir and you tube and see my video. Of course need to redo that. I was in a hurry b/c had to drive in san antonio to catch a plane so I was talking 90 to nothin but all true. We love Dr A and BEST MONEY EVER SPENT! One more month to our anniversary. YEAH! Talk at ya'll later. Gotta go make a weld. Jennifer

10 months out tomorrow!

Oct 25, 2009

Hey everyone, Sorry I haven't written in 3 months but when I work it's 80 plus hours a week and I pretty much work eat and sleep. So I have been really busy and the weight is kinda maintaining. I am eating like crazy and it's cold up here in Bemidji, MN so my body is in overdrive tryin to stay warm and the weight is dropping a little but hopefully it'll stay where it is now. I have lost a total of 97 pounds and I am buying a size 2 and 4 in jeans and I just bought a kids size large  Columbia sweat shirt today. I almost died. lol. I didn't wear this size when I was a kid. So Charlie is down 170 pounds give or take 3-5 pounds. I hate the scale b/c it varies everytime we get on it. I am learning to live with it. Life is grand and we thank Dr A everyday and we would do it over in a heart beat. Looking forward to seeing him in the near future.

7 months out!

Jul 24, 2009

We cant believe that it's been 7 months already. Time is flying by. In the last month we had our blood work done and had some bad news. Let me explain. I would get my husband off to work with his vitamin and his protein shake and would not take or drink mine. Shame on me b/c it caught up with me. 6 months later my blood work looked like crap and his was just a little low in the b12 department. So for the last 30 days I have been having 52 plus grams of protein in shakes and in food and multi vitamins and giving and taking b12 shots every week on top of a power form of b12 combo vitamins. I go Wednesday to see the Doc again and see if all that helped and how long I need to continue this. The only thing that gets me is- how can I feel so good and no signs of  deficiency and be so bad on the vitamins? The one thing that I have found is that ice tea if not a good  brand from certain restaurants taste like DIRT! That sucked. So anyway, I'll keep you posted and so far so good. I have lost 87 pounds and don't want to lose any more., My husband is down 160+ pounds and doesn't either. My mom is having surgery with Dr. A on the 14th of August so I get to see him and do a follow-up.  Excited about that!  I hope all of you are doing great and remember don't be me and take care of others and not yourself. It'll catch up with you.. Talk at you in a month!

5 Months out!

May 23, 2009

It's been 5 months next Tuesday and I have lost 76 pounds and my husband is down 134 pounds. We tell each other everyday  that  it was the best 20,000 dollars we ever spent. Our lives have changed dramatically. We go and do things now on his day off and we are happy and relaxed and not make our lives about what the next meal is going to be. We are renewing our marriage in the bedroom also. Which by the way is like taking on a new lover without the guilt or hassle. Absolutely the best money ever.!!!!... We could'nt be more happier if you paid us a millon dollars. Seriously! So I will take pics tomorrow and update . Hope all of you are staying strong and feel as blessed as we do. Thank you DR. A and Susan.... I am writting this on that Tuesday now! It  has been 5 months and I lost another pound so I am 77 pounds down. I only have 5 more to go to reach my personal goal but I figure 10 would be better. I am looking at getting a new set of boobs right now. With all this weight lost I am having a problem liking my boobs. The girls are not looking their best if you know  what I mean. So other then that I guess everyhring is good. My hair is falling out and I am a little freaked out about how much I lose in the shower and afterwards when i comb it. But you'll have that I guess. I'm fixin to call Susan to find out for sure though... Hope all is well and talk to my other big loser soon....

April 26th will be 4 months out!

Apr 20, 2009

So it has beeen 4 months this Sunday and I and down 70 pounds. Maybe by Sunday it'll be 71 ! I am excited that all has went well except the dumping that I have. Chicken and beef do not go down well with me but I can live with that.  I have went from a size 16/18 1x to a size 8 skinny jeans and a medium/large top. It is exciting to be able to buy clothes off the rack in a "normal" store and not a plus size. I went to a steward school a week plus ago and ran into friends and co-workers that we haven't seen in a year or two and I thought they were going to dodo in their pants with shock. What a great feeling. My husband is down 125 pounds in the same amount of time and he has to reintroduce himself to people b/c they dont know it's him. We find it funny....in a good way of course. So I want to get down another 17 pounds but it definately is going slower now but I have faith that it'll happen. If any of you are wondering about this surgery I have no regrets and would do it again in a heart beat. I have a new outlook on life and new husband and it's like having a new lover too. Win Win all the way around...

2 months out!

Feb 26, 2009

Well it's been 2 months today and I am down 49 pounds and my husband is down 86 pounds. It has been interesting to say the least. There are days that  I feel really happy about my decision b/c of the weight lost but then on the days that I get sick or cant eat a normal meal I get fustrated. Overall though I am happy with my choice. Every time I go to the mall and get a smaller pair of pants it makes sense . I know it was the best thing ever for my husband. He doesn't take his blood pressure pills any more and is not breathing heavy  and sleep apnea is gone. AMAZING! I am joining the gym tomorrow and hoping that by 6 month anniversary I will have a smokin hot body. Keep fingers crossed. Well thats it for now. I'll keep you posted.

6 weeks since surgery

Feb 08, 2009

Well it's been a interesting 6 weeks to say the least. Not being able to eat has been really difficult at times. A chicken leg is hard to get down or a piece of brisket or any beef for that matter. Ground turkey goes down pretty good but it just depends on the day. I miss not having a coke but that passes. So since the surgery I have lost 39 lbs and my husband has lost 48lbs. He has lost a total of 71 in 8 weeks (two weeks liquid) before surgery. I have been sick 3 times and he has too. Eating too much or something is too sweet( duck sauce ) for my half a egg roll. Not Good! I just get past it and figure being skinny is worth it and it's to late now.Regrets? NO Way! except when I drive by a hamburgar joint and cant have one. EVER!  Anyway, things are going good overall and we are down several pant sizes and that makes us feel good and we would do it again in  a heartbeat. Keep you informed in a week or two.

7 days out!

Dec 31, 2008

So I thought I would write down once a week how much weight we have lost. That would be today... So as you know my husband had to do the pre surgery liquid diet and he followed it to a T and lost 22 pounds. Since the surgery he is down 9 pounds. So in 3 weeks he is down 31.5 pounds. He has 118 more pounds to lose. no problem I say. you hafe lost a 1/4 of your total weight already. Once again AMAZING!

I on the other hand did not have to do the pre surgery diet. If you have a BMI 37 or below you do not have to with Dr. Alvarez. I went in weighing 235.8 on December 26th at 8:00am. Today is one week since surgery 7 days out and I have lost 13 pounds. Oh my Gawd! That 's insane. The 2009 New Year will bring many glorious things to our lives. My New Years resolution is-( to drink plenty of fluids and to be skinny ) NOT DIET AND FAIL. If you are reading this to decide if you want to have the surgery I would say " Don't hestitate another minute" call Susan or Dr. A and set up the surgery. I feel great and it's just 13 pounds so far. I have 72 pounds to go and I'm looking forward to every second of my new life.

3 days since surgery!

Dec 29, 2008

So it's been 3 days since we had surgery and we feel great. A little sore but overall I could'nt ask for anything more. I was a nervous wreck on Friday. You hear so much bad news about the border towns and the crime spree thats going on and it really made me think twice about going into Mexico. We decided to go and see for ourselves for dinner and it was great. The next day we met with Dr. A and he answered all of our questions and then took us up stairs to get us prep for surgery. Our new friend Monica went first and then my husband then myself. We were all recouping by 1:00ish and slept the majority of the day. The doctors came in several times and were so nice and thorough and made sure we had everything we needed. I truely can not say anything bad about them. We slept off and on the rest of the night and was released at 8:30 the next morning. Charlie and I drove home and arrived 7 and 1/2 hours later. Long day!!! Went for a walk and put on our pj's. Slept pretty good and today I got on the scale and I am down 7 pounds in 3 days. Thats AMAZING! I am looking forward to my new life. My husband is down 25 ounds since he started his liquid diet. CRAZY! He just said that he is not having as much problems putting on his selt belt. Little things like that make a huge difference in a overweight persons life. So anyway, that sums it up so far and I will fill in more as I go. Fixing to have some broth! YUMMY!!!!!!! Til next time.
