Marisa Lawrence

"Dr. Lawrence did my tummy tuck. She had to remove 7 lbs in skin and she did a great job. My tummy is so flat. I have shown my dermatologist and my family doctor and they also thought she did an awesome job. I am very happy with her work and with her bedside manner. I will go back to her! I did go back to her! On June 12th 2003 she took the redundant skin from my arms and legs. My legs had so much extra skin and it was very thin from being stretched so much. Dr. Lawrence told me I had the most skin that she had ever taken off of anyone before. My legs and arms look great! She did such an awesome job! The scars are even starting to lighten up, which is so hard to believe it is happening already. I will be going back to Dr. Lawrence to have my Buttoch and breast done in December. I can not wait to have them done too. I know it sounds weird to want to go under the knife again, but you just would not believe the difference it has made already not having all that hanging skin. No I am not saying it didn't hurt. The legs were the most painful so far, I went in the hospital on Thursday had the surgery and did not go home until Sunday. But then when I went home I was off my pain meds by midnight on Wednesday. It was all sooooo worth it and I just love Dr. Lawrence and her staff! They are truely wonderful! I had the continuation of the belt lift (butt and thigh lift) and a breast lift and augmentation December 3, 2003. Everything went very well. I do want to remind everyone that redundant skin removal is surgery. So many people forget that it is. Please make sure you have a good surgeon who will listen to you. Ten days after my surgery 12/10/03 I started bleeding out of my insicion on my right hip. I called Dr. Lawrence, she was asking me how much blood, what color it was, are there any blood clots, etc. I told her the blood was very dark, it seemed like a lot of blood (it is hard for a patient to convey how much blood) and there were no blood clots. She told me to watch it and let her know if there was a change. By 9:00 that night there were blood clots coming out and falling on the floor. I called Dr. Lawrence she told me to pack a bag and meet her at the hospital. My blood level was a 13 from 16 by the time I got into the ER. She knew she was going to have do open my right hip back up and see what was going on. Dr. Lawrence, by my bedside, on her cell phone faught to get me in first on a Sunday morning for emergency surgery, (all the while she was rubbing my leg trying to keep me calm). She did manage to get me in as the first surgery in the O.R. She stayed by my bedside, took me to the bathroom, (did not have time to put in a cathitar) and held my hand (I was upset and crying I did not want to have to be given blood, I was affraid of it, my blood level was very low and I had a headache because of it) She assured me that the only reason to give it to me would be to save my life, which I agreed was very important. By the time I got into surgery my blood level was a 7 and she did have to give me blood. When I woke up in recovery, Dr. Lawrence was there holding my hand. She told me everything was going to be ok, she then went out in the waiting room and huged my husband and told him I would be fine. The point of this is, MAKE SURE YOU CAN COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SURGEON. Dr. Lawrence listened to me and always made me feel like she cared about my well being. She has a wonderful bedside manner. I appreciate everything Dr. Lawrence has done for me. She put me first and stayed by my bedside to make me feel comfortable. Not all surgeons would do that. I will go back to see her when the need arises. I would also recommend her to other patients. SHE SAVED MY LIFE! She is an excellent surgeon and I am very happy with her work. Surgeons who work with all the redundant skin and do it well are artists. I believe that Dr. Lawrence is and ARTIST! "

Edward Waits

"I really love Dr. Waits, He was very honest with me from the beginning. As long as I stuck to the program I would loose the weight and I did. He has a wonderful bedside manner. Very caring. Karen is the person who handles the insurance. She is a real go getter. She had my insurance approved in just about 3 weeks. One thing you should know about Karen is that she is very busy and knows her job. She does not have time for tons of questions over the phone. Go to group get a sheet from Connie of the most commonly asked questions or talk to an Angel. Dr. Waits and his partner Dr. Macik are starting a structured aftercare program in January. Anyone who is scheduled for a consult starting January 1st will be in this program. I really think it will be a good program. Because so many people need guidance to keep them on track with their diet, exercise and mental health. I would rate Dr. Waits and his staff as excellent. I was very pleased with the care I received before, during and after my surgery. I think surgical competence and bedside manner are both very important and I received the best of both. "
