First attempt at Blogging! Carb questions

Aug 11, 2014

Hello everyone. I had my RNY surgery on July 2, 2014. I was well prepared. My team suggested I practice getting 64 oz. of fluids in before surgery and that helped a lot. I was able to add pureed foods on the second day as I got all my fluids in. I never liked cream of rice before, but that sure did taste good. My highest weight was 232. my pre surgery weight 220, surgery weight 217  current weight 195. I had a BMI Of 40 with no other health issues. So I couldn't gain or lose any weight while waiting for the actual surgery or insurance wouldn't cover the operation. current BMI is 35.9. I've lost 25 pounds in 6 weeks. I tend to follow rules so really haven't had any issues. I'm walking for 40 min. or dancing to my Just dance video for 35 min. I find it difficult to make 1/4 cup of food last 20 to 30 min. Last week I introduced double protein bread into diet and a few saltine crackers. My weight loss has slowed a bit. Could it be the carbs?? Could I really be that sensitive? I have already gone from a size 2X to 1X or XL really happy about that. At 65 years of age I am so glad I had the surgery. I was always dieting with little or no result. NOW I see progress. I've lurked here for about a month, now it's time to contribute and or get some questions answered.  I still cant figure out how to upload my avatar or photo. Hoping everyone has a lovely day.
