I started this journey with a decision in December 2012 to ask my GP for a referral to the Bariatric network.  I got a letter in February 2013 for the orientation in April.  After that lots of appointments and tests, including a couple I had to go to Ottawa for, as the wait was too long in Kingston.  I had a sleep test in October and starting using a CPAP in November, apparently for "severe" sleep apnea.  I met with the Surgeon in March 2014 and discussed the sleeve.  He agreed, as I have Celiac Disease the sleeve is the best option.  My surgery was on July 25th and I returned home two days later.  My journey so far has been pretty un-eventful.  I can eat most things I need right now (I do crave protein, so that's good) and some overcooked veggies.  I started walking outside the day after returning home and now do at least 20 mins a day, and will be trying for 2 walks from now on.  I'm losing at a good pace and my body is definately changing.  Very Exciting!!
