6 month check in

Jul 26, 2011

Well it's been six months since my surgery and I am the first to say that it was the best thing I have ever done for myself!
I have lost 91lbs so far and am still losing all the time. I got my "dream" job of working as a flight attendant which is ironic since before my surgery I couldn't even buckle an airplane seatbelt!! I started as a size 22 and now am in 14 (or a tight 12!)
I am still single but I know that will change!

The only thing I would like is recipes if anyone has any (especially simple ones) I seem to only eat salad, soup, oatmeal and yogart. I do still dump from sugars and try to not eat more than 7grams when I can help it and even though I don't crave foods I would love to eat something other than the 4 basic things I currently eat. Six months of the same things is kinda getting old!!

1 Week post-op

Jan 24, 2011

Today is exactly 1 week post-op and truthfully this is the first time that I felt half-way normal. I got my staples taken out this morning and will have my G-tube in until Feb 21. I know not everyone has one but my surgeon swears by them so it's a requirement. It's kinda annoying but I am okay with it and understand the reason for it. I haven't felt up to exercising any more than basic walking but hope that by the end of the week I will be able to do some sort of modified work outs.

I can honestly say that I have no regrets about doing this but I do have the fear of looking like a deflated balloon that some bariatric patients get. I may ask what I can do to avoid this when I go to my first group support meeting on Friday.
