I'm not really sure where to start. I didn't always have a problem with my weight until about 10 years ago. I guess depression didn't help either but I could pinpoint exactley when it all started and I don't want to return there. So let me go back a few months.

I haven't been feeling well and I knew something was wrong. I self diagnosed myself and decided I have diabetes. One night I was watching TV and came across an episode of Weight of Nation (I think that's what it's called). The topic was diabetes and I'm sitting here thinking, "Hey, I've got that." After the show I realized I need to take care of this and get a doctors confirmation. On May 29, 2012, I went to my doctor after fasting the night before. He took some blood and 2 days later he confirmed that I have type 2 diabetes.

Sometime in June I saw a friend that I hadn't seen in a while. She looked amazing and told me she had the sleeve done. I wanted more information so I went to a seminar on June 28, 2012. Shortly after, I had an appointment with Dr. Schmidt. We decided that although the sleeve is very beneficial, gastric bypass would be a better option because of my diabetes. On July 24, 2012, I had my surgery.
