It's so amazing how one person's kindness can make your totally crappy mood turn around!Yesterday when I called the insurance company I was so ready to rip someone's head off. I had all documents in hand, ready to go to battle. Well, it started out badly, the agent told me that I had been referred out to a surgeon that is over 2 hrs away from me. I proceed to explain that I have been fighting this for the past 7 months and just two days ago they told me a surgeon in our city had just been added to the approved list. She then says, hold for just one min.....No big surprise the past 7 months I have spent countless hours on hold. After about three min on hold I start to feel bad because I should have been nicer to this lady, it wasn't her fault. Then she comes back on line and proceeds to tell me she that she is going to put me on hold again. She was going to call the Dr's office herself... OMG!! could this be true, someone actually going out of their way to do something nice... this is not the norm when dealing with these people. Then she came back on the line and tells me it's all taken care of and that SHE is going to fax the approval to the surgeon's office.(they originally told me I would have to fax it myself when I got the paperwork in the mail and it could take up to two weeks for me to get it) Well imagine my surprise.. I thought I was going to faint at this point...
Then I started to cry. I think I scared her, she kept asking me if I was OK, I felt like such a dumb ass. But once I could catch my breath, I thanked her profusely. she started to laugh and then thanked me because she said that this call was the highlight of her day,.
I swear, after that call yesterday, I feel so good emotionally. I woke up this morning is such a good mood, well until my 10 yr old started with the attitude, but that's a story for another day..
I am Finlay seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
