It was a Monday

Jan 21, 2008

Well, not alot to say, it was a Monday for sure.  Went to my father in laws today so Mike could finish laying the trim in his new house trailer.  I went to the doc today to get my depo shot and my B-12.  I'll for sure be glad when the energy gets here.  Kinda been in a slump since last week, hence not posting.  I have TMJ in my right jaw and it has reared its ugly head again, causing massive headaches, ear pain and neck pain.  I am on meds for that but its still a drag.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend, and those that were off work today, a great holiday.  We also had my 15 year old nephew today, and he and I were just not on the same page, so that caused stress.  He is a great kid, just has no hometraining, no respect for most adults (Im not sure he respects Mike and I, but I do know he knows I'll handle him if hes not nice)  I guess  a little healthy fear never hurt anyone huh?

As far as my eating today, I guess Ive done ok.  Im not going to say good, b/c I have only eaten once so far today and its 7:13.  Im really struggling with food right now, so its an effort to put it down.  I will try to get some supper in in a bit, but for now, its been breakfast, which was one egg scrambled w/chees, 2 slices of bacon and 1 slice of toast.  I had a protein bar this afternoon and a SF popscicle.  Nibbling on some nuts now, so we will see.

Gotta run, hubby calling me.  Have a great rest of the week, see you all Wednesday.

LIVING GREAT IN 2008!!!

Jan 16, 2008

Hey guys!!!  Well, I have not done what I said I would and kept this thing up to date, but after looking at Wendy_fou's profile, I was inspired to do much better.  I feel it is our job to let people know about our life and journey.  None of us are perfect, none of us go by the rules all the time, but we owe it to the ones lurking and profile reading to let them know all about our true journey!!

Today has been a good day, not alot going on, just hanging out w/my father in law and husband, as I do on an almost daily basis.  I have been blessed to be able to spend my days with them, and it is a joy.  Not always fun, but a joy to be able to spend time with them.  I have not weighed lately, dont own any scales.  I know that if I did, I would be a "scale obsessor" and I dont want to be one.  I basically rely on the size of clothing and how I feel to judge my sucess.  I think I have been pretty sucessful, since I have gone from a size 24 to a size 5-7.  My life has never been better, I feel better physically and mentally and have more self confidence than I have ever had in my entire life.  I need to have new pics done, but as you can tell, my life is different.

I wish the weather would get it together, 75 one day and 30 the next.  Doesnt the weather know I cant ride my horse if its so cold!!!  Oh well, God is in control, and Id fuss about the weather regardless.  Im off for now, gotta get some laundry done, but I'll be back tomorrow.  If anyone reads this and has any questions, feel free to pm and ask away, Im an open book.  Till next time,

Man, it has been too long since I posted

Jul 10, 2007

Well, I must confess, I have not kept up this page like I first intended.  My life is soooooooo different now.  On Thursday, July 12, I will have my 5 month anniversary since surgery.  What a day to celebrate!!!  On that day, Dr. John Baker changed my entire life.
My surgery was such a breeze, and I have been basically complication free.  I have lost 86 pounds and have gone from a size 24-26 to a size 10-12.  As you can tell from my pictures, I have changed drastically.  My husband doesnt recognize me from a distance, and people who saw me just 2 months ago dont know me now.  When I pass a mirror, I have to look twice to see who I am, and my horse thanks me every day for the drastic loss of pounds on his back.
I cannot believe the difference in the way I feel, the way I walk and the way I look.  ZMy self confidence has become so much better, that I have to battle not being arrogant at times.  I dont ever want to be arrogant or uppity, only thankful for the opportunity to live again.
I will post more often, as I see that I have been really lax about it, as all can see.
Thank you God for a new lease on life and love again!!
Till next time,

Today is the Day I start the rest of my life!!!

Feb 11, 2007

Well...today is the day that the new me begins.  It is 3:20 am and I am doing my updraft before heading off for Little Rock.  I am so excited, a little nervous, but more than that, just so ready for this to be over and done.  I cant wait to see the new me emerge, I only hope and pray that I can remain the same person on the inside.  God creates the person and personality but its up to us to maintain both.  Thanks to everyone for being there for me in the waiting stage, and thanks ahead of time for being there for me on the losing side.  I'll post when I get home and am able to sit here.

Waiting Waiting Waiting!!!!!!

Feb 06, 2007

Well, Im in the "will the 12th ever get here phase"  I know that is not long, but it seems like it will never be here.  I have lost a few pounds since I saw Dr. Baker on Thursday, but let me tell you, these shakes are getting old.  Every time I have to drink one and dont want to, I just remind myself its all worth it.

Hope all are doing well, thanks for stopping by.
Later,

It's Really Gonna Happen!!!!!

Feb 03, 2007

I am sooooooooo excited!!!  On Thursday, February 1st, I went to Little Rock to see Dr. Baker.  He was wonderful, all of the ugly things I have heard must be from bad days in his life, or bad days in the patients life.  Dr. Baker was very thourough, but never negative, extremely helpful, he answered all of my questions as well as my husbands, we laughed the entire time I was there.  My surgery was scheduled, and I thought, ok, 3-4 weeks from now.  Man was I shocked, February 12th!!!!!!  I never in my life dreamed it would be so soon.
Then I went out to the lobby to get the shakes that he said I have to be on until surgery.  They were a little high, but hey, if that is all is costs me to be healthy, I'll be glad to pay it.  I got vanilla, b/c he said I could add all sorts of things to them.  Being the adventurous soul that I am, I have added fruit, jello, jello pudding, I've added nothing, Ive added splenda, Ive done lots of things to them.  I have learned, (a little fyi) that if I add SF/FF Jello pudding to them and freezing them, they are really good.  Today is experiment w/flavor day.  I have cheesecake flavor, choc flavor, banana flavor and butterschotch flavor all in the freezer.  Hey, no great loss if its not good!!!
Im so excited, I went walking this morning, Im amazed at how much better I feel on these shakes than eating so much food.  I started out at my first doctors appointment at 254.2 lbs.  We will see how much I can lose between now and surgery!!!
I'll try to post more often, as things progress and I discover things that I like or dont like.
Hugs,
Rhonda

Wow, what a day!!!

Jan 06, 2007

Hey guys and gals,
What a day this has been.  We (hubby and I) crawled out at 4:30 this morning to go and get my father in law in Camden, AR,  and make a trip to Jefferson, TX, to put out hay for his cows.  Its such a wonderful trip, in the front seat of a truck between my father in law and husband!!!!  But I love them both.  We got there and all was well, until the tractor died every 10 seconds.  We finally got 2 rolls out and said, nevermind, there is always next week, lol.  Its only 120 miles one way!!!!  Got back to Fordyce at 5:30 this afternoon, fed and watered our horses, and now are deciding what to have for dinner.

I am really trying to get off of the caffiene now, as all my OH friends say "DO IT NOW!!"  I am also trying to modify my eating, so that Im not eating everything in site, but ya'll all know how hard that is.

I still do not have a surgery date, but hey, it will come, and until then, Ill be happy to read all the successes of all of my OH friends.  You guys are great!!

Well, Im off to help hubby cook dinner.  How did I get so lucky to have a hubby that loves to cook as well!!!  God bless him, its gonna be his baby for a while after my surgery Im sure.

Hugs, Ill fill you in on more excitement tomorrow!!
Rhonda
