11/20/06.:::-I Will start off by saying I just love This Site. (So much information)I am a type of person that loves to teach & help others.I recommend doing extensive research before doing this wls. That includes reading the memorials.they are not depressing,,they teach you the mistakes that doctors (surgeons)make (yes they do make em) .Trust me they do. Just ask Me ..Don't be so quick to judge your surgeon and all its affiliates.I Have Had Open Heart Surgery already 10/04. I am Concidered High Risk, could be why i am doing extensive research on this before i go to the operating table. Before reading the memorials i didnt think that any problems could occur later after the wls. I have heard things can go wrong even  5 yrs after wls.Even Death. If people dont have insurance to cover a tummy tuck or plastic surgery after wls any kind of extra skin removal, you can contact your local University Burn Unit Hosp and they will do your Tummy Tuck at No Fee. Long as you donate your skin to burn victims.I was a support person for a lady whom had wls,and she informed me of that.I have just recieved my approval from my insurance company for this wls, was denied only once and that was a simple error on my pcp.not putting a surgeons name on the paperwork sent to my insurance company.although i don't think i have done enough pre tests to feel safe enough for this surgery just yet,I did pass the heart stress test which was my main concern for the wls.My first surgeon of choice has turned me down. ,which you can see at the left of my profile his name.,it may have  something to do with me being high risk. I have another surgeon i am working with,In The Same area. I  know that i am allergic to Morphine (had respitory failure from it) when i had open heart surgery.Glad my body was able to fight it,i am still here.Which is good because i am going to be a first time grandma in Jan 07.Whenever this surgery does happen; surgeon told me i cannot take ibuprofen for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after wls. I need to see if ibuprofen eats your stomach,I have taken enough for an army, could not be safe for wls.I eat it like candy otherwise i would be bed bound from so much lower back pain.btw,i really enjoy watching and reading anything informative which includes informercials,,if you have the same interests as me,,heres a website that may help us all called ''www.naturalcures.com'' I love it so much i put it around my license plate to advertise it..If you want to know more on medical issues go to this website '''medlineplus.gov'' you can watch any kind of surgery on video being performed on that site..OPEN HEART;; GASTRIC BYPASS etc etc.I got that info from the hosp. staff  in the hosp library.where i had my open heart surgery..will update this once a week since i am getting close.                                                                                               11/27/06.;;;  I would like to post alot of helpful information in my profile for others to read and hopefully take serious about their decision to have this surgery,,i attended a seminar of Dr.Anthone in Omaha Neb. he made a statement that has stuck in my mind since and probably will for the rest of my life,he SAID to all the people in the room of the seminar,,IF YOU CAN WALK INTO THE SEMINAR THEN MOST LIKELY YOU WILL WALK OUT OF SURGERY.this  man has a reputation of being one of the most respected surgeons and knowledge and skills are so excellent.from one end of the earth all the way to the other end of the earth. He has fixed so many people that he has done their wls for. SO if you are in a wheelchair from obesity then i would not consider this surgery.LoL I just thought of something ,,my profile is probably going to look  and sound like i am writting  a book..lol The Website "WebMd'' said if you have  been taking meds for diabetes for 10 yrs the medication damages your liver,Well lots of meds actually damages your liver and other organs. Hope the surgeons make sure my liver is ok for this surgery. i just read on WEB MD that for people who have a heart condition (such as myself ; i am not suppose to be taking metformin, A diabetic med. Don't know why i didnt know this sooner from Kevin Trudeau his book called ''natural cures they dont want you to know about'' educates people on meds.I have scar tissue around my sternum which may present a problem for surgery.I  have lots of scar tissue in my right groin area from the 7 stents that i also have. One therapist showed me that if you rub the area where the scar tissue is it helps dissolve the scar tissue, and to my surprise it did work for my groin area, but after 2 yrs my sternum area is still too sensitive to rub where the incision area is,i use to play volleyball 2 X a week and my groin area would get so sore from playing.I would litterally be limping  right after volleyball for about 5 days afterwards so rubbing it did allow me to get back to playing it again,,this is almost the only exercise i would get other than the twice a month grocery shopping, and was on my feet.Which is amazing,,when i am at home when washing dishes,,i cant stand for the whole duration to finish them too much  back pain,so i do a little then rest a lot til they are done.                                                                                                                                                           12/10/06 .;;;;  got a flu shot last week to boost my immune system which i am sure will help prevent possible fever during surgery or even after because at my open heart surgery i did develop a fever in icu.(not fun) in fact very scary.I am  proud getting things in order getting more positive someday maybe be able to go back to work as an electrical assembler and/or auto parts assembly.I also started on St.John's Wort 2 weeks ago it is making a difference in my moods,,I just started menopause couple of months ago.( found myself crying at the comp alot thats when i realized i needed some help.) I refuse to go on any antidepressant because i know alot of people that are on anti depressants that have gained at least 50 pounds from the med.menopauseeeeeee,,who'da thought at the same time as seeking gastric bypass?!!! Lot's of changes in my life right now.I also just read that if you develop any kind of cancer and are obese you are at high risk for it recurring after chemo therapy and all that.well enough for now, back later.                                                                                                                                            12/19/06,;;;;   WOW!!!!! I just had the awesome est  thing happen;,one day while  in OH chatroom someone said if you are high risk do not have anyone operate on you that has students assisting the surgeon (glad i was in the chatroom at that time) I would have missed something very important to my wls that i am seeking,,that was exactly my case.So i e-mailed my origanal surgeon assistant asking to reconsider being my surgeon,They said they recieved a copy of my approval from insurance,,WOOOHOOO They said Yes,The higher risk you are for surgery the less time in surgery the safer..I went to my consult with this surgeon today and it went  pretty well i thought, wasn't nervous, almost worked better for me this way in the long run,had more time to learn more in the OH chatroom for my consult questions.I Feel SOOOOOOO Safe Now With Dr White..,I AM SO BLESSED,,hope all my long hours on the comp doing research payes off, more later

1/12/07  Nothing New To Update since the consult; Waiting To Hear From Surgeon's Assistant. It"s been close to 3  weeks . Would be nice to start my journey very soon as summer will be here before you know it,I am a yard sale fanatic, but its painful on my knees getting in and out of the car right now.

1/18/07 Got an E-mail from the surgeons assistant, said the first week in March for surgery but waiting to hear from Insurance right now to change surgeons name for approval,to give me an exact date. I'm happy tho.
