Getting back on the "horse"

I am attempting to have revision surgery. I need to go from RNY to DS. Dr. John Husted M.D. will be my surgeon if I ever get past the insurance company. I meet all state required limitations set forth for Obesity Surgery. I had my previous surgeons office start my appeal process last year. Sadly it wasn't handled as well as it could have been so I was not informed properly of denials and time limits of appeals. It seems they can only mail these to Dr. offices. I was therefor informed by my insurance company, which is Greatwest Healthcare- now Cigna, that my time had expired and they can't accept my appeal. There is no way I am not medically necessary! They are just playing puppeteer with my life. It is so sad and I am so frustrated. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. God Bless.
