2 Weeks Post Op- Down 15lbs

Sep 25, 2014

This week wasn't too bad. I did mostly full liquids but did sneak in a few puree meals (cream of wheat, tuna...). Today though I am officially on the Puree Phase.

My Favorite Liquids:

-Protein shakes w/ jello pudding/ jello fruit flavors (ex. peach jello+cheesecake pudding=yum...sugar free of course)

-Wonton Soup w/ mashed potatoes mixed in

-Chicken Noodle Soup

-Tomato Basil Clam Chowder (whole foods)... was a bit chunky but i did a chew and spit...Well worth it

The numbers:

HW 295 (Prior to 2 day pre op diet)

SW 291 (Day of surgery)

1WK 283

2WK 276

So I am down 15lbs two weeks since surgery. I can see it already and can't wait to keep losing!

Day 3 Post Op Band To RNY Revision

Sep 15, 2014

I had a successful surgery (which means I woke up alive. lol) on September 11th at approximately 1pm. I was revised from the lap band (2009) to Roux En Y Gastric Bypass. Today I am 3 days post op and feeling pretty good. No pain... have barely taken any pain meds, I am able to tolerate most of the thingsI bought for post op and some things that I didn't tolerate just yesterday I can get down today like my Vitamin Water.

Today I began my full liquid diets which came right on time because I began to feel the effects of not enough food yesterday. I woke up READY for a protein shake and had 4oz of that (in 2oz measurements) just fine. I also had my first sugar free ice pop which I could've had on the clear liquid diet but I didn't... That tasted AMAZING!!! Later on today I will have come broth with a bit of mashed potatoes in it and some more protein. Today is also the day I can also start taking my multivitamins. Since they are liquid (Centrum) I probably could have had them earlier on but I waited as instructed. Once i get to the "soft/puree" phase, i will transition to my normal gummies which or much cheaper for almost double the servings.

Slow and steady wins the race?

Jan 05, 2010

So I have lost 4 pound since surgery. About 2 pounds a week(Im 2 weeks post op). They say its healthy to loose 1-2 pounds a week. As long as im losing and not gaining I am happy....but, I can definately see how some(yself included) can be dissapointed when you look at the others, losing on other surgeries. 1-2 pounds a week feels like nothing compared to others losing 10! But guess what? I will not measure my success by the success of others! Every loss is more than significant.
