I am 4 months into my 6 month supervised diet, and I have completed all my pre-op evaluations thanks to Beaumont Weight Loss Center in Royal Oak Michigan.  They make it so easy, it's all one stop shopping.  A man's dream...

Hopefully in May I will be approved and "Get 'er done!"

I am also engaged to be married and a new father as well....very happy times in my life..

I was supposed to start it in early August but was unable to so I am starting it now.

The journey of 1000 miles starts with one 
single step, and I took that step today.  I am starting a VLCD tommorrow.  This is the Doctor supervised diet I need to qualify for the surgery.   I want it to work so I can be thin again....

So happy I am dancing...See.

I just read an article about fat discrimination and how rampant it is and the 

fact that it is perfectly legal in every state in America except Michigan. 

Also my wife loves to go to the fata$$ comments when we argue...

I have to get this fat off of me.  ASAP!!!

Since my last post but here are some updates...

It was confirmed by the testing that I have sleep apnea so now I have a cpap machine.

I am starting a VLCD this week through Henry Ford Medical...I hope to lose at least 100 pounds but I am also concerned about the long term ability to keep it off through this unsustainable diet plan.

Still pushing for surgery too...Whatever works. 

I went to my consult at Barix Clinics, more of the same.  After gassing me up they told me the same thing they did the last time, well not quite the same but a lot of it.  

They said I need to be on medically supervised diets, once again I cannot find a doctor that does that.

They said I need to lose weight, which I am trying to do everyday because I am sick and tired of being "me".  I have never felt ashamed in my life, until I walked out of that consultation.

Now I am just some fat loser with no hope.

BTW 

my height is 5'9 and weight 365 which classifies me as Super Morbidly Obese.   

The doctor told me my liver is enlarged also.

I have never felt like a failure in life until, now...

I had a sleep disorder consultation two days later and they scheduled me for an overnight sleep study and a day time nap study.

I will keep going despite my feelings because if I do not change this around I will not be here much longer.  In fact one of the questions they asked is, do you get winded walking up a flight of stairs?   Now I get winded walk on level ground.   It is time for a change...and I am the fat guy that can do it.

Here I am, back on the hunt.

I got derailed in my previous attempt at Bariatric surgery but lately I have been getting even larger so I got back in the hunt.  I have tried dieting (on my own) but always fail due to circumstances beyond my control/financial ability.  I even tried the Subway thing that Jared did but I cannot afford to eat at Subway twice a day everyday.  Nor can I get them fresh, I work between 12/16 hours a day without prior notice so getting to subway just isn't always feasible.

I talked to a few doctors about going on a medically surpervised diet only to be told by all, "I don't get involved with that, you know what you need to do, do it"  I wonder if that is what the insurers tell them to say in order to deny people for not having a doctor surpervised diet record???

I have been getting bigger lately where I am developing Kankles, and my fattest fat man pants barely fit...And my daughter is now five years old and nobody else will hang out with her on her level so it is up to fat daddy to do it.  take her to the park, the zoo, etc...I need and must get down to size so we can enjoy her childhood.  Amusement park rides, etc...

BTW I went to an amusement park and could not fit on any rides, major embarassment.

I spoke with Barix and they tell me they are "In-Network" for my insurer so hopefully it will happen this time.
