So I am 12 days out from my revision to the bypass and I can honestly tell you I am so sore and exhausted I followed up with my doctor today and he said to go ahead and move to the soft stage wish I tried tonight with the ricotta bake and I could eat three bites and I was done but now I feel nauseous and he said that's probably to be expected what did you guys do when you move from liquid stage to soft stage any suggestions would help I only had the sleeve done and this is bypass thing is all new for me any suggestions or any information Insight would be great. Plus side I have lost 15 lbs since surgery

Well haven't posted in a while but I figured WTH so here it goes!  Had surgery on March 24 all went well.  No complications just lost of gas!  This was the best thing I have ever done.  I followed my plan to the T as per Drs orders.  I originally started this journey at 311 pounds.  Currently I weigh 242.  I am so happy.  I have loads of energy and of course sex with the hubby is awesome!!!  I walk and work out every day.  I have hit a few stalls but not stressing bout that yet.  If I stall I know I'm losing inches so it all works out.  I feel good about myself everyday and I know it will get better as I progress!  I will try to update more often!! Good luck to everyone who has had surgery or is thinking about it.  This is a life saver!!!!

Went to the Drs today for my 2 week post op! Did wonderful! I cant get off liquids and eat mushy! love it!!! Ate mashed potatoes and an egg today!!!! My weight was 279 !!!!!!!! Was SHOCKED!!! That is 32 lbs since my pre op!!!  Don't have to see the doc for 6 weeks but going to continue doing what I am doing and walk walk walk!!!!!fluids fluids fluids and the weight is going to come off! I am so loving my sleeve!!! Hubby is having his lap band April 13th!!

It's been 10 days and I went to my PCP because I was having prblems with my blood pressure meds.  As soon as I was taking them the would make me extremely dizzy for 2 hours or longer.  Well she dropped 1 so now I am only on 2.  But the best part was I had dropeed 11 pounds since surgery!!!  I was SHOCKED!!!!! All together this is 30 pounds including the pre op diet.  Got tons to go but hey loving the decision I made!!!!

Well, Surgery went well.  Wasn't nervous at all.  Dr. kept me for 2 days instead of 1.  Now just sore as hell.  Having alot of gas pressure it SUCKS!!!!! Hard time sleeping.  It was worth it though. Cant wait till i am able to start back at the gym! Have to see the dr in 2 weeks! Then I can go back to work!

So I have only 4 more day until my surgery! Getting nervous! Not as bad as I thought!  Now come Thursday March 24th, this may be a whole different story!  As for the liquid diet, is day 6 and its actually better started with creamy soups and this seems to be alot better then the broth!  Hell I even started working Out!   My poor body is saying "Cheri, What the hell are you doing to me?!?!?!" Whatever it is I like It!!! Brighter side is I have lost 13 pounds since March 1!! Yay Me!!!

OK so this is day 5 of my Pre Surgery Liquid diet! Man does it suck! But hey it will be worth it in the end.  It has been so hard the first couple of days I cried because I was cooking dinner for my husband and son and thinking damn I can't eat this.  My husband and son are being supportive but after the first couple of days its gotten better.  I was really moody.  My Dr. made me go on a liquid diet for 10 days before my surgery.  My surgery is scheduled for March 24th.  Not as nervous as I thought but we will see how next week goes.  Now if I could stop my stomach from growling all the time. I ignore it most of the time but its still annoying!  Will be glad when next Thursday gets here!! Until then!

SO I AM SUPER SUPER EXCITED!!!! CAN YOU TELL?!?!?!?!?! GOT A CALL YESTERDAY FROM MY SURGEON'S OFFICE.  IT WAS FROM THE OFFICE MANAGER, SHE STATED THAT MY SURGERY WAS APPROVED AND WAS LIKE WE CAN SCHEDULE YOUR SURGERY! I LITERALLY DROPPED THE PHONE! ISAID TO HER I JUST HAD MY LAST NUTRIONIST APPOINMENT ON TUESDAY AND SHE SAID IT WOULD TAKE AT LEAST 30 DAY TO GET AN ANSWER.  THE OFFICER MANAGER SAID NO, I DID EVERYTHING REQUIRED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY APPROVED IT THE NEXT DAY!!! SHE SCHEDULE ME FOR SURGERY MARCH 24TH.  I HAVE TO SEE DR. MIRANDA FOR MY H&P ON MARCH 9TH AND THEN START MY ALL LIQUID DIET!!!! I AM SO STOKED!!! THIS DAY IS FINALLY HERE! IT HAS BEEN A LONG JOURNEY.  I STARTED THIS PROCESS IN AUGUST AND NOW FINALLY THE DAY HAS COME!!!! I AM SUPER EXCITED!!!! I AM A LITTLE NERVOUS ALSO BUT THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED! I KNOW IN THE END I WILL BE HEALTHIER AND FEEL SO MUCH BETTER!!!! THIS IS THE START OF A NEW ME!!!!!!!

So as of March 1, 2011 I have finished all the requirements that the insurance has requested!!! Now the drs office has to submit to my insurance company!  I have decides to have the Gastric sleeve done at this point after talking to my nutrionist!! I love her!! Not really liking the stomach being taking out but then having the RNY done I didn't want my insides rerouted and then my unused stomach just sits there all lonely and useless!! My mom wasn't happy with my decision but this in all my decision and no one elses!!!

So this is my first blog!! I will finally be done with my nutrionist on the 23rd of this month and then they submit my paperwork to get the approval for my surgery!!!!!  Man 6 months was a long time!!!! I was so torn between what surgery to have.  My initial surgey consult was for the lab band.  Then I researched the Gastric Bypass and the Gastric Sleeve and thought maybe these were better.  Believe me I did ALOT of research talked to people who had all the procedures and then sat down with my husband and he helped me decide! We are doing it together only surgery will be a week apart.   After sitting down and really thinking about it I didn't want my insides rerouted and I really don't want most of my stomach gone I decided to go back to my original plan and do the lap band.  I am excited and nervous all in one.  I have been ready for some time.  I have always been overweight and I am ready to finally start being healthy and living longer for my son.  People asked me why I was doing this and who I was doing it for and why now and all I tell them is I am doing it for ME and because now I'm finally ready!!!!!!
