Victim of Vanity Sizing?

Jun 07, 2011

I think that I am a victim of vanity sizing.  Vanity sizing, also known as size inflation is used to refer to the phenomenon of ready-to-wear clothing of the same nominal size becoming larger over time. Many commentators have suggested that "vanity" sizing, as its name suggests, is designed to satisfy buyers' wishes to appear thin and feel better about themselves.

I purchased some demin shorts and Lee's jeans , size 8 petite from Walmart last week.  They were a perfect fit!  I have had some weight flucuations, so I was pleasantly surprised, pleased and proud of my size!

Now I know the clothing may have been made larger to make me feel good..... hence vanity size.

OK, the dieting continues!
