To my friends...

Dec 08, 2010

Life has taken a turn for crazy here at this house.  I don't know why that surprises me.  I think I would be more stressed out if everything actually seemed to be going smooth.  Then I would think something was SERIOUSLY wrong.  Anyway, I have not had the time nor the energy at the end of the days to come on and send well wishes to my friends that I know have recently had surgery or just need encouragement for the upcoming adventure.  Everything is still going well as far as my WLS.  I will admit that I have not been really great about taking correct care of myself.  I am and have always been the type of person that, when things get overwhelming, I am last on my list.  That is not too uncommon with most Moms.  I have been bad about proteins and even taking my supplements.  As things slowly get back to somewhat "normal" (for lack of a better word! LOL)  I get better about it.  I know I need to make myself as important as everyone else in this family, and I am continuing to work on that.  My weight loss has not suffered much...still coming off.  AND...so far...no real hair loss to speak of. Yay!  So....to all of my friends- Hope all is well with you all and thinking of you,   Sending warm wishes for a joyous holiday season.  Take care all.  HUGS!

What a great Thanksgiving!

Nov 25, 2010

It was an wonderful time spent with family and friends.  Beautiful warm weather, kids running around playing, good food, good company and a gorgeous sunset over the water at the end of the day.  The Italian feast was a huge hit.  The Antipasto I made go rave reviews.  I knew it was going to be good.  Salads are my specialty!  I put everything in that thing....all the way down to roasting my own red peppers and soaking them in olive oil with frsh garlic and fresh basil overnight.  Yum!  I got to take a small bite of my sister's most fabulous lasagna she has ever made and my mom made meatballs with marinara, there was eggplant rollatini and my zucchini manicotti (compliments of Eggface!  It was over all a wonderful time.  I was even able to have about 2 TBS of a Chocolate Cocunut Rum Tiramisu (OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!) and a sliver of my mom's chocolate cheesecake (thank you God, for not making me a dumper)!   The only downfall is that our 88 year old granama that lives with us, started having stomach pains and vomiting, so our 2 hour trip home ended up at Shands Hospital ER.  This woman is such a trooper!!!  She totally inspires me!  She is a cancer survivor from cervical cancer 10 years ago and this past summer was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma, and after 5 chemos,it looks as if she is in remission and has beaten it once again!!!!!  We have said so many prayers for a miracle and have seen them answered.  This time it is a bowel obstruction.  Poor girl....hopefully she will get rehydrated and be home soon, with no further complications.  She is looking forward to her body healing itself from the chemo and geting back to her life.  What an amazing woman she is.  I thank God everyday for blessing me with such an awesome family.  I truly am lucky to have such wonderful; people in my life.  Hope everyone's holiday went as well (except for the sick grandma part)!  Have a wonderful weekend!!

My cutie patootie son!

Nov 23, 2010

We entered Aidan, my sweet Gator guy,  in a photo contest for the best Gator fan photo.  He has made it into the final 10 and the competition is super tough now.  The grand prize is a really awesome Fuji digital camera that I would LOVE!!!!!!!!  If anyone wants to help Aidan win and his Mommy get a really sweet camera for Christmas, you can go and register to vote for him at the link below.  He is the little Gator football player (number 10 of 10). You do have to register with email etc, but it's a safe site,  It is our local newspaper.  Thanks to anyone that takes the time to help us out!  There is another cutie pie picture that has been ahead of us by 5-6 votes consistantly!  Also, you are allowed to vote daily so remember to pop over and get your votes in before Sunday.  Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving holiday!

Bummer!

Nov 01, 2010

OK- so I guess it's official.  After testing the waters (A LOT) this past Halloween/birthday/Florida-Georgia football game weekend, I have concluded that I am not a dumper.  That's kind of a bummer to me.  Isn't that crazy?  That I am bummed that eating sugar won't send my body into a downward spiral that ends up in the toilet?  Sighhhhhhhhh.  I guess the positive of that is that I can have a bite here and there and still taste the flavors of some of my favorite things.  Things that I thought and had accepted I would never have again.  So, there it is.

On the upside, I still lost weight.  I only had about a 2x2 piece of birthday cake, but I was sure that the fritos and chili cheese dip would do it.  LOL  Back to being good again today!  It is over and now I am back to the 41 (ack!) year old mother of 2 keeper of the home, taxi service for everyone that lives here......Ahhhhhh....I love my life!  Seriously, it's the best!
