I have been diagnose with Polycystic Overy Disease in my early 20's. It a blessing I have 3 children; a son 15 yrs old and 2 daughters 10 and 5. My doctor brought up WLS 2 years ago, I went to the seminar to learn about it and found out at the time our insurance didn't cover it. Well I decided to forget about wls and start dieting. Well I got my PCOS under control and started loosing weight with Metiformin.. Everything was going well till Oct. 2009 my body has gone fully resistance after being on metiformin 5 years and had to get off metiformin. Once I have gone off Metiformin the weight started climbing and I knew i had to do something beforeI became diabetic. I saw my primary care in Dec 2009, and I told her I'm going to go forth with the WLS, I said I'm tired of being over weight and tired all the time. She was excited for me and she happy. She said this will be the best thing I have ever done for myself and she said I will be alot happier and will see a change in myself. I saw my dr in Dec. 2009 and I weighed 284 lbs.
Well my husband got good insurance and they do cover the wls so I will start the process!
