Here’s my story. It begins that lovely morning after Valentine’s Day (the day of love) in the year 1984; a beautiful bundle of joy was born. She was cherished and cared for all her life, yet she had a secret love for food. Throughout the years, she continued to grow and grow. Always much larger in frame than the other little boys and girls, yet she continued in her studies and excel through it all. She was still able to function and move, just like any other person of a smaller size until the dreaded year 2009. This is when her weight began to catch up with her.

Okay, I know my life is not a fairy tale by far. I went through my life as chubby, fluffy, heavy, big, overweight, and then I became obese, morbidly obese, and extremely morbidly obese. I am only 27 years old and move and probably feel like 94 year old woman every single day. I didn’t get here overnight and I have tried and failed at different attempts to lose this weight via diets & exercise. Lately, I’ve been considering my options: become immobile and continue to gain more weight before I’ve actually lived my life OR get some REAL help in shedding these pounds. WLS is not something I’ve always wanted to do. I actually use to get offended when someone would suggest it to me, be it a doctor or a so called friend. I would always tell people, the only reason I would do the WLS is for health reasons – IT IS NOW THAT TIME.
