Hi my name is Jessenia, I've been dealing with my weight since I was about 10 yrs old. I've tried just about every diet out there and nothing seems to want to work. I've even tried to just starve and only eat vegetables, you name it, I've probably done it.  Last year I went to see  my primary doctor for a yearly physical exam and the doctor had said to me that my weight was of great concern (I've always been over weight, but this was the first time a doctor had mentioned my weight being of great concerned, probably because I'm getting older) and he goes on to say that I'm considered "morbidly obese". I didn't know there was such a thing as morbidly obese at that time. Then the doc says I need to loose some weight. I then told him if he can give me any advice as to how because I've tried so many diets and nothing worked. After leaving the doctor's office, I was suppose to receive a call from a dietition so we can set up an appt. but I didn't receive a call until 2 weeks later. By that time I had my yearly visit with the Gynocologist. I swear my Gynocologist is the best. She was also concerned because my BMI was about 55 rounding it up. She goes on to tell me about this surgeon who specializes in Gastric Bypass. He is the best in my state. She got me to set up an appt. with him that same day in her office. I swear that was the best day of my life. I knew right then that I had a second chance. After meeting with the surgeon, he gave me a couple of tasks to complete for insurance purpose and for his program. He also set me up with the dietition right away. Now I'm hoping to get the gastric bypass surgery soon. I've been working on getting everything that needs to be completed for my insurance in order to have my surgery approved. I took interest in the bypass surgery in Novemer 2011. I've had to do 6 mos of dietition visit to satisfy my insurance. I'm hoping to get cleared from the dietion this week on May 29,2012. Once cleared, I would set up an appt. with my surgeon to discuss a possible date for surgery, something that  i've been waiting on for sometime now. Hoping that the dietition visit goes well, I could now say that I will be looking forward to a better and healthier future.

To update my story, I recently had my surgery on 08/08/2012. So far so good, I even lost 40lbs. The diet stages are a challenge but if you believe in yourself, you can do anything. I'm striving on a healthier future and now I know I'm determined to get there. 3 weeks post-op!!!
