No, I haven't spoken to the doctor. I have recently moved out of state. I am trying to get set-up with a new PCP but haven't found one yet. Not sure if there is a support group in my area or not. I have considered starting at the liquid diet phase again and seeing if that helped. Tried the food journal for a while and the dietician thought everything was fine.

Hi Jessica- What about starting from square one again and going back to basics? How about meeting with the nutritionist, keeping food logs, exercise, and going to support groups? Also, what types of food are you eating? Have you spoken to your surgeon about the weight gain and your concerns? Can you identify if it is physical hunger versus head hunger? Don't give up!

Hi everyone. It has been a long time since I came on to update anything. My news is not good. I am feeling like such a failure. I was 333 on the morning of surgery. At my lowest I had gotten down to 208 but I had settled at around 220. Then last year around the middle of November I slowly started gaining weight again. I am now back up to 248. I don't know what is wrong with me. I don't ever seem to feel full when I eat until I have eaten too much. I know that I MUST have stretched my pouch back out. I am always feeling hungry. I swear I feel like a cow wanting to graze all of the time. As I said. I feel like I have failed at this like everything else I ever tried before the surgery. I have no idea what to do to correct the problem and start losing the weight again. But I wish all of you luck that are struggling with your own issues and congratulate those of you that have beaten your obesity demons. Take care and God Bless, Jessica

Wow...I can't believe it has been sooo long since I last posted. I am now 10 months post-op and I feel great. I have lost 102 lbs so far and am looking forward to losing another 50-70 lbs. My only real complication has been that I started developing gallstones by 2 months post op and by August they were so severe that I had to have my gallbladder removed. Unfortunately because the bypass was an open surgery the scar tissue was too dense and they had to do the gallbladder surgery open as well. That meant another 4 day hospital stay and another month out of work but I still feel like it was all worth it. I feel like I have gotten my life back and I am much happier than I was a year ago. To anyone contemplating this surgery I tell them they need to do what is right for themselves but for me it was the best decision of my life.

Good luck on your coming surgery. My prayers are with you, and hoping for an uneventful surgery, and a speedy, painfree recovery. Keep your focus on healing. Make sure you walk, and keep up your breathing exercise. YOU CAN DO THIS! See you on the other side.
