Like many of the people on here, I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I have always had an unhealthy relationship with food. I ate when I was lonely, happy, sad, mad and bored. After the devastating loss of my Dad and, 24 hours later, my Grandma, I used food as tool to help me through the grieving process. As most of you can imagine, this didn't go over so well and I ended up gaining almost 100 pounds. At work one day I met a young lady that shared with me how she had weight loss surgery. She explained to me that in Saskatchewan you could have the surgery done for free but you had to be on a wait list. I couldn't get home fast enough to call my doctor and get her to refer me to the Saskatchewan Bariatric Center.

After a year of waiting to hear from the center I called them to see where I was on the waiting list, and I was told that I would be waiting at least another year and possibly up to 5 years before I would have the surgery. At this time I decided to look into other options and found Dr. Aceves.  My experience with Dr. Aceves was amazing. I have started a completely new chapter in my life and am so excited to see the finished product.
