My Journey

Apr 05, 2012

Started my weight loss journey in 2008. At my heaviest weighed 270 pounds. I have been a patient at weight wise twice. The first time I managed to lose some weight but dropped out due to personal reasons and could not make the time committment needed to be successful.
On March 21, 2012 I was seen for the first time at the weight wise clinic for round 2. My first weigh in there was 202.5 ( I was disapointed, my home scale had read 199.00). I met with Stephanie and had a great appointment. I also seen the phycologist and dietician whom all say I have done great on my own, and are pleased that I continued to lose weight after I left the program in 2009.
Last night I attended a group session for emotional eaters, (omg, I'm a terrible emotional eater). The learning has been astounding.
I was so overwhelmed before getting to the group....I finally can look at clothes in real stores (size 14) I was so confused with all the choices I had to leave. The poor lady helping me must of thought I was completely nuts (although she may be right) she was wrong at this moment. Having never been able to shop in any stores but plus size, I was shocked I FIT...yes fit in clothes that are made with linings and curves and fit amazing. Lord knows I need to wear some nylons next time to get that smooth look under those slacks but man I have never felt better. I have not had surgery or meds but have journelled forever. I spent 3 months trying to get under the 200lbs mark...plateued forever. But I am on a much better path, feel healthy and can't wait to go back to see Stephanie...and show her that at group weigh in on her scale I was 199.0 what a crazy feeling. home scale is 197.5. I am going to continue to track with my home scale, its what I have used for 2 years so no point is stopping now.

I have read so many stories of inspiration here and I cannot wait to share my successes and short falls.
