Regain

Nov 11, 2019

Well I'm sad to say 7 years out and I'm not sure whether my pouch failed me or I failed my pouch. Either way I feel absolutely horrible.  My lowest weight was 330. I maintained that for years. Maintenance got tough in 2015. I was pregnant with my 2nd child. It was a tough pregnancy constantly being taken out of work due to bleeding for the last 6 months of pregnancy.  Drs were always preparing me for a miscarriage.  It was very stressful and I noticed while pregnant I was able to eat more. It was strange. When baby came the full feeling came back. I regained about 20lbs after cooking that lil bun in my oven. I lost the weight in a yr. In 2017 I got pregnant again.  I had a miscarriage :( dr said my lil angel had spinal bifida and its nature way of correcting a mistake in DNA :( I was depressed.  I miscarried at 3.5 months.i gained weight and was put on antidepressants. At the end of the yr. I discovered to be pregnant and hid it for most of the pregnancy, scared I would miscarry again.  In April 2018 I had a beautiful tiny son. I was happy again sorta. I was diagnosed with post partum and well after 3 pregnancies ( 2 live births) I regained. But wait there's more. My mom got kidney cancer. Kidney removed in August 2019, then September 2019 my husband who is the primary money maker got a hip replacement.  So I am juggling 2 jobs, caring for my mom ,husband,  my 3 kids ....forgot to mention I got a 13 yr old girl. Anyhow I got a lot on my plate and although I am active and busy I dont always find time to eat what or when I should. I went from my lowest weight of 330 and regained 40 lbs. I am currently in the range of 368 and 370 :( I am aware nobody will probably read this but I need to write this for me. If by any chance someone is reading this any advice will be welcome.

6 months post op

Jan 08, 2013

Well I'm down to 335 :) I'm happy with where I'm at weight loss has slowed but I'm ok I'm still losing . I did have a recent visit to the er. On New Years. I been having abdominal pain. I assumed it was due to new workout. But on New Years pain was do unbearable I went to er. They did a ct scan and said swollen gallbladder and stones. They released me w norcos and naseau meds, following Friday my primary dr referred me to a surgeon. Today I met a nice surgeon dr. Beschtel he said it needs to come out. So he said ill have no more gallbladder and no more pain although I will have 4 incision holes . Lol he was funny he said the only downside will be my young child will assume I got shot with all me incision scars from vsg and now gallbladder removal :) I can live with that. So now I just got to wait 2-4 days for insurance approval and he will call with surgery date :)

Update

Sep 05, 2012

Had surgery (vsg) 6/25/12 so this is a late 2 month update. My highest weight recorded was 424. Surgery date was 403 and today I am 359. I'm perfectly happy with my loss so far. Some days I struggle to eat. While others I feel like I'm eating a lil too much. I'm finally used to the smaller stomach. Ive had a few bumps after surgery , two as a matter of fact. The first is me being allergic to whey protien, but all is good I now eat the amount needed so it was nothing really. And the second bump on my vsg road is the numb sensation on the inner parts of my legs from ankle to mid thigh. The skin is only numb not the entire limbs. Anyhow dr says not to stress it and it's should go away on its own. Other than that I'm happy n healthy. I am fitting in my old highschool clothes so I am a happy camper. Went from 26-28 to a 20-22. My goal next is to get into a 18. I was a big kid I stand 5'11 and my middle school grad dress is a 18 so when I fit on that I will be so ecstatic.

Halfway mark

Mar 23, 2012

So I cut down on food for the past month and worked out like crazy. And this morning I weighed 411. I know what your thinking why are you so happy? Your still fat...well 412 is the halfway mark of my mandatory pre surgery weight loss. So me getting to 411 means my paperwork can now get submitted to my insurance. Omg I'm super excited. Now the only thing to do is loose 11 lbs before surgery date whenever that may be.... I'm hoping my papers get submitted today or Monday .... And I find out if I get approved by the end of next week. Praying for a quick surgery date, that would be my motivation to loose these extra pounds.

Today i attendd the mandatory wls class for the hospital i will be having surgery at. All the info was stuff i learned from prior visits and this site :) I was informed with the loss of 8-10 lbs my surgeon will submit paperwork to insurance. he says if i can loose this by the 17th which is the date of my last seminar i could possiby have surgery by end of march or early April. I am excited to say Im amost on the losers bench. Im also a lil frusterated with losing this 8-10 lbs. I have been trying to loose and have not lost more than 4 lbs :( hopefully keeping to my diet and adding more exercise will help.
