Methodist Medical Center of Illinois

"I didn't initially plan on going to Methodist, but in retrospect, I was really glad that I did. I had gone to OSF St Francis for my gallbladder surgery about 18 months ago. I found the staff at Methodist to be fabulous. The preop staff was great in getting me ready and setting appropriate expectations for what was to come. It was quite a blessing that my IV went into my hand - for the gallbladder, it was at the elbow, and was very painful and annoying! It took me quite some time to come around after anesthesia, but the individuals that were there were quite wonderful and helpful. My room temperature was comfortable, which was not the case in my OSF experience. I did find, after the fact, that I had quite a large bruise on my left-hip after surgery, likely from them moving me around while I was under. It doesn't hurt, but that was the reason I marked down the "equipment" question. The nursing staff was supportive of both my husband and I - often times suggesting pain medication for me that turned out to be the best thing (especially prior to the doctor taking my drain out!) I would highly recommend their care and will likely use their services again, if they are needed!"
