Well I guess I'll begin at the beginning.  I have been a heavy child as far back as I can remember. It started out just being chubby and cute then that turned to just being a fat kid. I was raised by my grandmother who was a product of the great depression and she instilled in me that I needed to clean my plate because there a millions of people that dont have food to eat.  We did not waste food in our house!  Anyway, those values followed me all throught high school and college and on into adulthood.  I eat fast and I want to eat it all, even when Im full.  I am learning now that I do not have to stuff myself or overeat because there will be more food to eat later, lol. Ok well here is a little about me now. I am a registered nurse in Houston, TX. This was a second career choice for me. My first degree is in busness law and I went back to school to become a nurse in 2005.  I LOVE BEING A NURSE! I wish I would have done this when I was in undergrad the first time! Anyway, I am married but like alot of overweight women, I have been having fertility problems and my husband and I have not been able to conceive in the 2 years that we have been trying.  I am a fun and outgoing person that has been reduced to scrubs and hanging at home because I feel trapped in this body.  I dont like to go out anywhere with my smaller friends so I just hang out with my husband and go to movies and dinner with him...that is soooo not the me that I used to be!  I look forward to a time when I will want to go out and dance the night away like I used to. I would love to be able to go to fun places with my husband and ride roller coasters again! I want to do the small things like cross my legs, bend over and tie my shoes, run up a flight of stairs and not be about to pass out when I get to the top.  I am a great nurse and my patients tell me this all the time but I want to have the energy to do MORE! I want to work in the ER but I know right now, I wouldnt be able to keep up.  I am coming to OH to get support from people that have been where I am and also get to know some people that are walking the road that I am currently on. I plan to have the DS WLS. That is the option that I and my surgeon think is best for me. Thanks for stopping by my page and I look forward to getting to know you guys!
