HELLO FRIENDS!!! I GOT MY DATE!!  December 06 2011... the holidays come early to the Sell house :))) YAYYYYY!!   Other news, finished my nutrition classes and spent some extra time with the dietician.  She is awesome.  I feel so lucky.  My hubby says he is excited for me.  Bought my IMPACT for my liquid protein diet pre-op...yuk.  I can think of other stuff I'd rather be drinking. LOL :)     Wish me well friends, I am so excited!!!!  YAYYYYY!!

I had my stress tests last week...and they did just stress me out.  I am told that the very last thing my surgeon needs to go ahead and schedule me is the cardiac clearance.  So, a week after my tests now, i call the cardiologist, who tells me i am cleared, and that they will dictate, transcribe and fax it to my surgeon by this afternoon.  Then, nurse Patti tells me, oh well,  Dr. V,. is going to be out Friday through Monday for a seminar or some such thing...so I am given the news that I will be scheduled during the first week of December....and that i will get that exact date when the doc gets back.  So, again, I am waiting.....for Monday!!!  *sign*

Just wanted to make a note that I have enjoyed the OH support that I have gotten from friends in their chatroom....I have heard from several people that there have been problems in the past there, but I have met some really nice people, some who live right down the road from me!!  And have felt very welcomed there by just about everyone.  Thank you for that. 

I don't know what I was so afraid of today, but I WAS nervous as heck going in to that psych eval., though it went very well and I was cleared for surgery.  I also was cleared by the dietician two days ago, so only one more clearance to go in five days, and then I can schedule my surgery!  yay!  I am excited like you wouldn't believe...well, maybe you would. :)  

I got a phone call today from my surgeon's office, and they informed me that I was going to need an appointment with a cardiologist for cardiac clearance, before I can schedule my surgery.  So, I called them to see if I could get an appointment yet this year, as cardiologists, I was told, are now scheduling into next summer and fall for new patients.  I just shrunk.  I was sure I was going to end up having surgery in 2013.  When I phoned, I got an appointment for Halloween day!!  Woo hoo!!!  Only 13 days away!!  So, I was told, once I complete whatever testing the cardiologist may require, I may schedule my weight loss surgery, at long last.  Yes!!  Finally, I got some good news. 

I have two appointments this week:  One for my psych. evaluation, and one on one with the dietician.  As I am sure you already know, these are both required in order to get my surgery scheduled.  I don't know exactly what they are trying to establish with the psych. evaluation, but I am pretty sure that I am mentally ready for this surgery.

My beginning weight was 307, and I checked in with my doc a few days ago and my weight is 281, sort of!  See, I wear a prosthetic leg, and when they weigh me it is always with or without the leg.  The 281 is with the leg, and the leg weighs approximately 8-10 lb.  My doc is doing supervised medical weight loss with me, so that my insurance will be happy to pay for my surgery.  I am excited about this week, because I have both my psych evaluation and my dietician appointments, which are the last things I need to do before I can schedule my surgery!!  So, I will check in later this week!  I have waited months for these appointments, so I cannot wait!
