MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Jan 12, 2011

Mission accomplished!  I had surgery six days ago and feel pretty good.

I kept working on losing after my pre op appointment and lost a few more pounds, so down approximately 40-45lbs before surgery.

I didn’t have to check into the hospital until noon, so we drove down to South San Francisco the morning of…talk about being stressed out! I was nervous and wanted to cry, but held it together. I had pre registered at my pre op, so the only thing to do was sign paperwork and turn in my SDI stuff, didn’t take long at all!

The staff was great, the IV was painless and everyone, surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurses all came to introduce themselves and say hi. The last thing I remember was laying my head down between a blue cushion…..  I think the worst part of the whole thing was the gas they pump into you at surgery…it was immediate pain as soon as I woke up! The morphine made me sick, terribly sick! I truly thought I was dying!!! I am so happy that part is over.

So my surgeon put me on stage two as soon as I went home, mushy foods, cottage cheese, applesauce, pudding (I don’t see the point of the pudding, so haven’t had it, trying to lose here!) things like that, it is hard to get the water in and the protein shake I am suppose to have once a day, so working on it.

It will be one day at a time…NOT an easy road…as so many people have the nerve to say this is taking the easy way out!
