"I called to make an appointment with Dr. Cowan in October of 99 and they told me they couln't get me in until March 2000, however I was still really excited. I live three hours from Memphis in Mayfield, Kentucky. When I got there I had to fill out a whole bunch of paperwork, which is to be expected. I didn't get called back for about 2 hours, however when I did, the nurse was really nice. I sat in the room for another hour and a half, I am just glad my mom was with me to keep me company. However, I must say when Dr. Cowan finally arrived I was very pleased. He was very nice, caring, and intelligent. He hugged both me and my mother before we left, and I felt very confident. After only two weeks, I talked to my insurance lady and she said I was approved for the surgery, but she was having trouble getting ahold of the insurance lady at Dr. Cowans office. So she and I both tried to reach her for another week before I got her on the phone. I am still getting the runaround and still have no surgery date. I am pleased with Dr. Cowan, I just think his office staff could be more corteous in communicating with the insurance company and patients, after all this is one of the most important things in my life."
