so, after all this planning and numerous doctor visits...finally...sent paperwork to insurance company and they approved after first letter!!! I was half expecting to not be approved at all until numerous battles and appeals! Totally Made my day! Now, let the nerves settle in.Prior to sending in paperwork, I had to have an endoscopy, being that I have GERD, and have for several year, they thought, since it'd been so long since the last one, they might just want to take a look. Turns out, not only do I have GERD, I have progressed to Barrett's Esophagus. It seems to be hereditary/genetic, as my brother has it too and he's not at all overweight. I am hoping that with surgery, the weight loss will be significant enough that the symptoms will go away to prevent another surgery.
Nerves...YES, happy, YES - will i let this deter me, NOOOOOO!! Bring it on! I'm excited to have my new life in order!
