Although I have always struggled with my weight, it wasn't until I went to college that I really lost control. I went from a size 10 to a size 20 in a couple years. Finally, a little less than a year ago, I had a diebetes scare and decided that was enough. I have lost 48 pounds since my surgery, and would like to lose another 90 to reach my goal weight of 140lbs.

One thing that has made this very hard for me is that I am in fashion. I am working on getting my Masters in Fashion Merchandising at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I have loved fashion my entire life, and being overweight has pushed me further and further away from what I love. I lost myself, my confidence, and I am ready to take it back!

I have had some hard times since my surgery, the last three months were very difficult as I hit a plateau. However, I have made the decision and the effort to change my lazy ways and get back on track! I have lost 6 more lbs in the last week so I am very proud of myself.

This is on its way to being the best thing to happen to me in a very long time. My motivation to stay on track is picturing myself in a before and after photo in my surgeons office looking fabulous in the beautiful clothing that I love...and finally being happy once again.
