Third Step completed!

Jul 22, 2013

I had my first consult today. I was expecting it to be the best day, but it was not that great. Yes I feel like I completed a step, but I also feel like I have a million more to go. I was told my first dietician appointment isn't untilled September 3,2013 that's 6 weeks away. How am I going to get through these next 6 visits and not want to quit. I know why I'm not giving up but 6 months to a person with A.D.H.D. is like 10 years. I just hope this passes and looking to get my surgery in March of next year, oh writing that makes me want to cry. So I just have to work on not smoking and find something to do for the next 6months.... next step dietician here I come.

Third Step in the making!

Jul 18, 2013

I go to my first consult on Monday July 22,2013, but just getting to this step is taking forever! I don't know what I am going to do for 6 months of supervised visits. It seems like the days are going by so slow. I am going to pull my hair out....

Second Step done!

Jul 12, 2013

I have completed step number two . I have just finished attending Ochsner's seminar that I had to attend. I have also scheduled my consultation for July, 22 2013 and looking forward to it. Then comes the tests never really be tested for anything so if I was dying I wouldn't even know it....then the DAMN supervised diets that I just can't get away from I really tried to find an exception, but of course NONE!!!! On to my to the next step.

First Step!

Jul 05, 2013

So I have started my journey in my weight loss. This isn't the first time but I hope it is the last! I am going for the surgery, I have been on many many good and bad diets and surgery is the last one I hope. I have taken the FIRST STEP and talked to my doctor on June 27,2013 weighing 271(268)lbs BMI 43.3. My PCP referred me to Ochsner Surgical Weight Loss Program in New Orleans, La. I have to attend a seminar first before I can consult with the surgeon on staff, but a step is a step. The seminar is July 24th 2013, and I am excited but it is not coming fast enough. I hope to weigh at least 150lbs when this is all done. My insurance is United Health Care Through Medicaid for the State of Louisiana, which means fiery hoops are ready for me to jump through. From reading this forum I have discovered that medicaid requires a 6 month supervised visits plus a bunch of tests. I am ok with all the tests, but 6 WHOLE MONTHS uggh just a little longer right. WRONG. I am not a patient person but I see I have to be on this long journey! Well I am off to my next step in this long journey....
