My sister and I have been overweight our whole lives. We both always had a very positive attitude about our weight, but still wanted to do something about it. 6 years ago we decided to have the lap band done. We went threw all the steps, evaluation, sleep study, met the doctors, and then found out our insurance wouldn't cover it. Thank goodness it didn't!  June 20, 2009 we went to a seminar at weight wise and listened to Dr. Walton talk about all the different procedures, I knew right then I was going to have the sleeve. As soon as the seminar was over we weighed and started our diets. (Starting weight 284Lbs) As soon as we got home we got rid of all the bad food in the house. I must admit it has been a lot easier to do with my sister and I supporting each other. We went to all of our appointments and I even got the joy of doing 2 sleep studies, but it was all worth it when we got our surgery date August 19th. It made it all so real and exciting. We continued on with our diets, but had the last meal syndrome. My sister had Chinese like 3 times and I had Schlotskys twice. Try not to do that if you can keep from it. The morning of the surgery came and I must admit I still wasn't nervous. I weighed in at 260Lbs.  After surgery I had a lot of nausea and that was horrible. That lasted about the first 3-4 days and after that passed it was getting over the fact that all we could have was liquids for 2 weeks. The first real food we had was canned chicken and some cheese. It was like having a freaking steak! Neither one of us has had any problems with food, but we will see if that lasts.
