Since starting the process to my WLS I have spent a lot of time on the phone with my sister, whom already went throug her WLS, and doing a lot of research on my own. I desided to start cutting out things that I will no longer be able to have after surgery and trying to expand my taste for foods that I am not fond of or have never tried. So far so good. I have completely cut sugar, bread, and minimixed how much pasta I have and have replaced "bad" foods with healthier foods. I have also cut myself from drinking soda all the time to 2 cans a day and trying sugar free flavor packs for water, have found some that I like and others that I hate but I feel by making these changes now I will be more prepared for my post op diet.
I am now 2 months into the WLS process and have most of my appointments that I can schedule without my doctor already scheduled. Excited about the seminar this weekend. My sister has been a huge help and a huge support and will be tagging along with me so that I make sure that I get all the information that I need. I still have a long way to go but I don't look at the length of the road before the WLS but the successful road after the WLS.
