BOB.....finnally

Jun 04, 2011

This is it. I have fought for a revision for 4 years. I used Kelly Lindstrom @ Obesity Law thru every battle. Unfortunately with my HMO's that I had, it was a wasted battle. Obesity Law could not do any more than they did. After the 2nd time going to the state to get a reversal of the denial, I decided to wait for my open enrollment. I changed over and started immediately.....but was quickly diagnosed with a tumor in my back that required 3 surgeries to remove. Well I started back on my revision journey the day after my clean bill of health was was given. My PPO with Anthem Blue Cross was amazing. I was approved the 1st time. I totally credit the team Dr Owens has over there @ the Chapman Medical center in Orange CA. My surgery is this Wednesday, June 1,2011. I am sure this is the best option for me. I am getting a band over my small stomach. I had a EGD last Friday and the Dr said he had never seen such a big post-bypass stomach. I never understood why all my friends were dropping weight and not me. I worked out 5 days a week for an hour and 1/2...still nothing. When my hip blew out, all physical activity stopped. I still dump...so I do not eat sugar sweets or binge. The capacity was always the issue and problem. I am so excited to have restriction...the restriction I never had. I will be able to control the restriction now. After all the health issues (cancer tumor) I have had...this is my best choice. Finally it is my turn...I was sick of waiting for the approval that never came. Well I have it now. It is on the nightstand, in writing. FINALLY I WON. Kisses to all my revision sisters (& brothers).

Still Fighting-Gonna Win

Jun 01, 2009

Still fighting. I am not going to give up. I will stop when I win. I lost back in March and had to start over again. Don't they know I'll never give up. They are wrong. Found out that the upper GI never was presented with my case to the state, so....This time will be the last time.

Where and what have I been doing.....
I now work full time and don't have much time to post. I am very active with my children in their sports.
Thank you for missing me.
I am waiting to get a band-over my RNY. As you all remember my slow weight loss was a very sore subject....well turns out when I had an EGD (@ 6 mos post-op) the Dr dilated my Stoma making the opening so wide that I had almost no restriction. Well long story short I did not gain all my weight back ,but a medication I was on for depression added enough weight for me to qualify for a re-do. I am at 36 BMI but have severe arthritis in my right hip and almost no cartilage in the joint, I walk with a limp and in constant pain. I do not want to get a full-on revision but have the restriction that I enjoyed my first 6  months post-op.
My recent upper GI shows also shows that my pouch was made too large. So I had 2 issues this whole time. I have followed the rules from the start and used to work-out so much that it was upsetting to watch people less committed lose, while I struggled.
I still talk to a few dear people. I am the sort to make and keep few awesome people as friends. I do not have lots of time to dedicate to the, but the little time we spend together is priceless.
