Had my Upper GI this morning. Have I ever told you how much I hate Barium? Uuugghhh!!! I've been to the bathroom 3 times in a 1/2 hour. Nasty. Anyway, I have GERD. I could watch the continuous display on the computer screen as he was filming my stomach, and it was refluxing right there. Nasty. But watching was interesting.
My paperwork was submitted to the Insurance Company today by Dr. Rod's staff. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything gets approved. I really don't forsee any problems, because I know several people that have the same insurance, and have had this surgery. With the same doctor. So, I'm just waiting for a letter from the insurance company. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Have to get the other tests set up. Upper GI (because I have a hyatel hernia), the Echo Cardiogram and the Stress Test.
Upper GI is set for June 30th and Heart stuff for July 10th. I can't wait to get this stuff out of the way so I can have my surgery!! I'm soooooo excited to finally have a chance to become healthy and not have my joints hurt anymore. I'll keep writing to remind me of what's going on.

Had my first visit with Dr. Rodriguez today. He seems really nice. He also seems pretty strict on his rules. He won't do surgery if he doesn't think you're following the rules because he doesn't want you to fail. I guess that's good.
I have to set up my psych eval so his staff can get the insurance submitted. I don't think it'll be a problem getting this approved. They've approved several people that I know of for this surgery. I have BCBS of TX Federal. But time will tell.
I have a tentative date for surgery of July 31st. Woo Hoo!!
